Has anyone traveled with their makeup between airports?

I have my cousins wedding coming up and I am flying with my makeup products to a different state. Has anyone ever had any issues being a makeup artist with carry on luggage with all your products and kits?

I am specifically traveling with my airbrush kit and a few cream palates from Graftobian. I realize they have a limit of 3fl oz per travel bottle but has there ever been such an issue with anything else?

Just want to save myself the hassle of crying in the airport if they dump all my makeup!!

It's not makeup, but I once had a jar of a Nutella like spread (harder than Nutella and with loads of crunchy bits, so thought it didn't count as liquid) in my carry on and the scanners detected it and I had to throw it away, so the scanners definitely pick up on larger cream items, if that's what you mean.

I've seen some professionals mention that they just ship their items instead, so that they don't worry about any rules or regulations. It would have to be in advanced though, as a lot of shipping companies will use ground to ship any liqiud products.

They might confiscate the needle from the inside of the airbrush. You could try checking it instead of carryon, but you risk it getting lost or damaged.

I usually just check all my makeup - and I've traveled with full bottles of shampoo/conditioner, etc.and sometimes they check the bag but they never dump it if you check the bag

Carry ons are a completely different story - anything over 3 fl.oz. is likely to get tossed especially if you are flying international - but if you are staying in the country some places may be more or less lenient than others - and honestly you won't know until you get there - but I personally wouldn't risk it and would rather just check it all

Definitely check or pay for fast shipping and send it. You risk it getting damaged or lost but you won't get it taken away and thrown out in front of you. I personally have never gone with makeup in my carry on because when I was younger I had a travel bottle of sunscreen that they threw away because it was 3.2 Oz, even though it said on the bottle that it was travel friendly and had a picture of a plane on it lol.
But it depends on the airport and security and generally how they feel about it. My grandmother got her crochet needles and tiny scissors taken away from her on her 30 minute flight home, she was like 87 and they were cheap plastic with rounded edges but they still counted them as a threat. The next time she flew she checked them in her luggage and complained about it to a worker and they told her that they would have allowed her to bring it on the plane with her. Different airport though and different variations of what is or is not considered a threat. I wouldn't risk it though. It'd be heartbreaking to have to watch them throw it out

I had a friend whose straightener was removed because of the cord. Granted this was right after 9/11 and security was ramped up. Still, you can never know for sure what they will decide to confiscate. If you can't easily replace it or it would cost too much to do so, ship it with insurance.

I always keep my makeup the plane with me. I always put my liquids in a plastic bag not matter the size.
