Should I wear foundation at 13?

So I have quite clear skin, a few spots here and there but that's all. However I feel like my skin is quite uneven/ patchy looking so I wear a small amount of the nars sheer glow foundation radiant cream mixed with the bare minerals complexion rescue hydrated gel.

I'm only 13 so I'm debating on whether I should keep wearing this at my age. I'm scared of any future results such as wrinkles. I don't have sensitive skin, just dry, and I prime my face with a primer that is kind to my skin. I have tried powder and it just feels so dry on my skin.

I feel like the combination I use makes my skin feel moisturised and fresh as nars & bare minerals are quite lightweight and natural brands, but is it damaging for me to wear this young?! Please help.

(Like I said I do only use little bit of foundation that is usually diluted by the bare minerals tinted gel, so I don't cake my face) - xoxo Natalie

If you parents don't mind and it makes you comfortable, go for it. Make sure you take care of your skin (hygiene, skincare) and wearing makeup won't cause any issues. Kids now are lucky because they can watch tutorials online to learn how to apply makeup; no more terrible mismatched foundation and raccoon eyes like when I was growing up. ;)

I agree with Emily :)! As long as you're happy that's all that matters. Focus on good skin care, and sheer coverage that won't clog your pores!

Foundation is not harmful to your skin- as long as your parents don't mind, don't worry about it. Bare Minerals has SPF I think so that's a good habit to start early. You are diluting it with Sheer Glow- which I'm sure looks great, I love foundation mixing. But I do recommend a stand alone sunscreen for daily use. Never too young to protect your skin. Since you are wearing foundation, be sure that you have a good skincare regimen, particularly cleansing so are sure that your face is makeup free when you go to bed. P.S. I started foundation at 14 and I'm 40 and don't have any wrinkles yet. So I fully support your choice :)

I think what you're doing is completely okay :) If you're nervous about it you can always try purchasing a tinted moisturizer (you're basically mixing your own) or a bb/cc cream.

I'm fairly happy with how my skin looks 95% of the time, but I wish I had started getting in touch with my skin as a teenager more proactively; I think it'd look even better now.

Makeup is not going to damage your skin unless it's badly formulated/you don't wash it off properly, but I would still say focus more on your skin itself rather than making it look superficially better.

I agree with most everyone here.
skincare is going to do more to address the issues you have with your skin and actually solve them long term. and the sooner you get a handle on caring for the largest organ in your body the better. so start and end your focus there. ingredients just get safer and safer and nowadays your main concern with makeup is, as Leuca said, making sure to wash off every bit of it at night. usually water or a makeup wipe alone isn't good enough to do so and you should get a makeup remover and face wash instead of regular soap if you don't have some already. try not to tug at the skin when you do anything to your face and stay hydrated inside and out. wrinkles are natural and are going to happen to most of us no matter what when our skin thins out with age. but they are exacerbated by dehydration and loss of nutrients, both factors make the skin thinner and less able to repair itself and that's the main cause of wrinkles.
otherwise, as long as your parents are ok with it, my only suggestion would be not to wear something heavier or with more coverage than you need. from your description it seems you're already ahead of me on that. there's nothing more dangerous about it skin wise but less is always more and using the sheerest application you can to cover the areas you want to will help everything look and feel more natural.

and as a side note, it's always good to remember that natural products does not equal good products. it doesn't equal bad either but I think it can be harmful to make the first association. lemon juice is all natural and saline solution is not but I wouldn't trust the natural product in my eye. any ingredient can cause a reaction for someone because we all have different skin and something all natural can be just as dangerous for some as certain man made chemicals can be for others. there are people out there who get rashes from water. it's important to research ingredients and what they do individually, but it's equally important to know your skin and how it reacts to what.

You should back off the primer etc. try Neutogena moisture rich foundation and apply it with a stippling brush (Bare Minerals has good ones). Use only to even out your skin where you need it.
