Hey guys, so I love the look of highlighting the tip of nose but I'm just wondering, I have a bulbous nose and I feel like highlighting the tip makes it stand out more? But I continue to do it as it makes my nose more defined, is this a bad move considering I don't want attention to my nose? Idkkkkk.

I wouldn't ever suggest highlighting the nose. I think it adds nothing to anyone's appearance and often detracts. but if you are self conscious about your nose I definitely wouldn't suggest doing it. highlighting always brings attention to the thing you put it on and makes that area look bigger or more open. so if you think your nose is big, putting a bat signal there won't help you. nose contouring can help for pictures you look back at but I personally haven't seen one that looks unnoticeable in person (yet). and if a contour is visible, it's not creating the shadow that it's supposed to. unless it's for pictures, I don't suggest anything but powder and foundation/concealer for most noses.
with all that being said there is rarely a such thing as too big of a nose. looking at your pics, it's my opinion that you're just hyperfocusing on one area you're not happy with because it doesn't look huge to me, and is proportioned well with the rest of your face. you look very beautiful and your nose doesn't take away from that at all. I know it's not the advice anyone looks for when they ask about a makeup technique, but I honestly think the best technique for your nose is to learn to love or at least accept it.

Totally agree with Aleena! Your nose looks perfectly proportionate to your face. Personally, I don't think highlight on the nose is a good look for anyone. It gives anyone a bulbous appearance as highlight brings things forward. Focus on a feature you love and play it up. You are gorgeous, doll! X

If you're already contouring the nose, the tip of the nose will ALREADLY appear highlighted by comparison. So I feel added highlight to the tip is usually too much especially with an actual highlighter frosty, shimmering highlighter. Which tends to give most a RUDOLPH nose. I cringe when I see this distracting glowing ball on the tip of a girl's nose. It looks obvious and ridiculous. If you want a little highlight there, I would just powder it with a slightly lighter matte powder. I contour my nose, and I do add a medium intensity cream highlight only on the dime size area on the bridge of my nose, right between my eyes to make the middle bridge of my nose appear not so high. This is just an example of how I contour and highlight for my SPECIFIC nose shape. Which I believe is more important than these cookie-cutter techniques you see on Instagram and YouTube.

Yes, if you do have a bulbous nose then using a contour should be enough, adding highlight is only if you have a flatter nose and want it to look taller without contouring. Or if you have a slight hump on the nose, like myself, where I tend to highlight the tip of my nose to make it seem higher and more balanced because contouring alone, you can still see that the center-bridgr of my nose catches light better whereas the very tip seems lower because it is and highlight at the tip helps balance that look. Even at slight angles my nose looks less aquiline and more straight.
For your particular concerns it isn't necessary like the other women have mentioned
