Have you gotten your hair professionally done?

I say go to a salon. It's expensive but trust me. Red can easily turn into orange.

Framesi 2001 (or Fram Color) Professional Hair Color is the absolute BEST for reds. I used to be a Corporate trainer training stylists how to use it and its the best color line hands down. Next is Wella Koelston, but reds can be tricky and a trained colorist is less expensive than a cheap or do it yourself job that will cost a large amount to fix if done wrong. Framesi makes their pigments reflective & shiny and allows the colorist to completely tailor the formula exactly how you want it. Good luck!

I recently dyed my hair an auburn color and I absolutely love it! I used two boxes of Garnier's "Medium Auburn Brown"...it has a very subtle dark brown low light with a lovely red color all over.

@Alia R what do you use for your red?

Jan 7, 2013

Amber, I would REALLY recommend a professional when working with red. It can easily go wrong. You can look at pics that girls are posting and them telling you what they used but just because it turned out one way on them does NOT mean it will do the same with your hair. There are several things that affect the outcome of color. 1) the current color/level that your hair is now. 2) whether or not you have existing color or virgin hair, 3.) porosity/texture of your hair. If you decide to choose a professional do your research online. it will be worth it. you want to LOVE your hair when you're finished. Be careful and good luck!
