Both depending on what it is::: here are my fav products (I have normal to dry skin) foundations- my favorite is Mac studio fix but I also love maybelline matte & poreless (I like a lot of coverage) concealer- my favorite is Mac prolongwear but I also love maybelline dark circle eraser and hard candy glamoflage (all very High coverage) powder- Rimmel stay matte and nyc translucent powder and I Heard Sonia ja shut translucent beightening powder Is an exact dupe OF Laura Mercier, also I Heard Ben nye cameo and banana powder and coty aura pin powder Are really good) contour- kat von d contour kit but I'm sure if you bought drugstore contour shades separetly you could find good ones. I tried The nyx contour kit snd Its OK. highlight- the balm Mary loumanizer (looks good On lighter snd medium light skin tones) have not found any good drugstore highlighters). Eyeshadow primer- Mac paint pot and soft ocre but I Heard there's an exact maybelline color tattoo dupe eyeshadow- morphe, kat von d, makeup geek, anastasia beverly hills Brows- anastasia dipbrow liquid eyeliner- kat von d tattoo liner by far but I also love The Nyc liquid eyeliner and I Heard jesses girl liquid eyeliner Pen Is an exact dupe for kat von d! Pencil eyeliner- rimmel nude eyeliner and loreal smouldering eyeliner Black máscara- loreal voluminous curved brush Is AMAZING; and Almost makes you look like you're wearing fake lashes, Mac zoom lash Is really good, and loreal telescopic carbon Black Is really good for lengthening snd the bottom lashes! Setting spray- Mac fix plus!! I've tried elf and makeup forever and I didnt like them personally. I like drug store foundations, powders and concealers. such as L'oreal True Match & Maybelline Fit Me and Nuetrogena Mineral Powder is really good ( a bit pricey for drug store ) I also love the covergirl mascaras. Those are the only things I really do like from the drug store oh and wet and wild eyeshadows thats about it though.. ( not including their glitters they are horrible ). I do not like highlighters from the drug store only one I really like is wet n wild the fergie collection. Most drug store blushes and contour things are just to chalky for me and never seem to apply the correct way. On the other hand I love high end foundations, highlighters, concealers, bronzers and everything for me they have better formulas not all but if you do your research you definitely will find really good ones such as too faces bronzers, foundations. Becca cosmetics highlighters, Nars highlighters etc.. Thats just my opinion though.

High end but that's just because I love the packaging and for foundation, I believe ingredients are better and they cater to my skintone which the drugstore never does.

I love both. I prefer high end products when it comes to my face because I have extremely acne prone skin and it's very sensitive and when I use drugstore products on my face I tend to break out a lot, but then I love drugstore mascaras. It just depends on what I'm using at the moment but currently I'm using all drugstore for my eyes and using all high end for my face and eyebrows

I love both. There are some things I really prefer high end, such as foundation and primer, and usually eyeshadows also. Everything else I'm willing to try both. Some of my favorite mascaras and eyeliner are drugstore and perform just as well as my high end mascara and eyeliners. You just kind of have to find whichever works best for you and whichever you prefer :)

I truly think this is more dependent on the product itself.. You can't just generalize all make up because each one is formulated different. Even if the ingredients are the same, they all depend on the quality. For example, There are a bunch of silicones that go into foundation... But the quality varies as a cheap silicone can make your foundation look nice for 5 minutes but what about 8 hours + weather + skin?
Now do I think my Viseart palette compares to say Morphe? Hell no... The quality shows within itself. It's not a fancy looking palette or labeled with Louis Vuitton but the quality out beats a lot of palettes... This includes some high end palettes as well which is why I say it's better to narrow it down. I personally can't generalize like that but I do favor high end and prestige brands more because at least I am able to test out these products in store to see if I like them or not... Unfortunately with drugstore, I can't tell what foundation will match me in store. And I'm not sure about other places, but in Miami drugstore make up here is expensive! And I've seen prices go up so I rather pay $10+ more and have an accurate match then loose money because I bought a foundation I can't return.

I like both but I prefer high end stuff when it comes to certain things like foundation.
With drugstore makeup I could never find anything that matched. Usually they'd be too orange, pink, ashy or too light or it would fade through out the day.
I've only found two drugstore foundations that work for me.
The L'orèal True Match and the Maybelline Fit Me matte and poreless.

As far as powders... My favorite one happens to be a drugstore one from Palladio but other drugstore powders I've used would make me an oily mess compared to the high end ones I've used.

When it comes to eyeshadows I'd rather use drugstore eyeshadows. I honestly don't find it necessary to get high end eyeshadow, a really good primer will make any shadow look great

The only type of high-end makeup I ever splurge on are eyeshadow palettes and highlighters, and occasionally concealers or eyeliners.

There are products that are worth splurging for such as highlight, foundation and eyeshadows, atleast in my opinion.
Mascara and blushes on the other hand you can get amazing ones from drugstore which can even be better than high end

Depends. I'll never buy mascara that's more than $10. But I have figured out that eyeshadow is much better high end than drugstore.

Me personally I prefer high end, main reason why is the packaging second would be the brand being %100 honest I'm a name brand whore I love name brand things third I would say some of the things have better quality and pigmentation but I'm not saying drug store makeup isnt good I'm saying I prefer high end, if my pockets could afford it I would have more luxury brand items like I said I'm a brand whore lol, I've seen some beautiful looks made with drugstore products so I can't say you don't get good results I think in that aspect its all about technique because you can sure get awful results with high end makeup or any makeup weather its geared to pro or luxury items if its not done right in the end I think its all about preference and what your able to afford.

Hmmm I loved both!! I'd have to say I reach for highend more. But those are purchases I researched a little more and really lusted for. BUT I have yet to find a mascara so I always choose drugstore cause I've never loved any mascara! And I reaaaaaalllly like the real techniques beauty sponge!!

I feel like drugstore products have been really stepped up these last few months. My holy grail primer/foundation/concealer/powder are drugstore

I love both, we can sit here and pretend that drugstore cosmetics just don't do the job and some how using high end all of a sudden made us a makeup magician but truth be told so many line's are connected in the world of cosmetics the option's are great for us to explore. With all that some are hits and misses and some are better some are not, like in most thing's so just have fun exploring no matter the cost and also research who is actually the manufacture of the line's because you would be surprised what you'll find. Like Real techniques is actually Eco tools & Studio basics. Also that Coty airspun that's been hyped again lately well that's connected to Rimmel because they both are a Coty Inc brand.Let's not forget what l'oreal owns. :)
Just be opened to it all, We've all started with a cherry lip gloss that was a dollar or was owned by mom lol.

High end. But I do use tons of drugstore makeup too. Here are products that are high end and why I choose them...

Splurge: Skincare- completely changed my skin when I started using better products, I actually spend less than I did before because it not only works better (so I'm not constantly trying new cleansers, mask, spot treatments, ugh etc.) but last longer than drugstore washes did.

Next would be foundation- Does everyone need to go out and buy high end foundation? No, but if you are super oily or have desert dry skin like myself, then splurging is most definitely necessary. But, if you have normal or combo skin, there are plenty of drugstore foundations that can work for you.

Eyeshadows- This is really where I began with high end products. Once I tried high end palettes compared to most drugstore, it completely changed me! Lol stupid? Maybe, but they work, blend, last, and look better than most (Maybelline Color Tattoo, L'Oreal Infallible Cream, and Wet n Wild are the only drugstore shadows that I will use other than high end) drugstore eyeshadows.

Blush: Yes you can definitely buy some lovely drugstore blushes but for me, spending a tad more $ for a product that I don't have to constantly reapply all day is worth it.

Highlighter: I'd rather spend a little more and get a dewy healthy glow vs looking like I just dumped a bucket of glitter on my face, is worth it.

Brows- No question about it for me. I've tried every drugstore eyebrow product and nothing works as good as ABH for me.

Liquid Eyeliner- Super black, last all day without fading. I have yet to find a drugstore eyeliner that holds up to my KVD or Stila.

Drugstore products that can work just as good as high end: Eyeliner (pencil), Mascara (I always try new high end mascaras and always turn right back to my L'Oreal), Setting Powder (it you aren't super oily), Lipsticks (yes I honestly prefer high end, but there are some pretty nice drugstore lippies out there), Eyeshadow primer (again I always use UD, Lorac, or Too Faced) but Milani's does work pretty good too...
Its all just preference and believe me, I love drugstore products, but some of those will just not hold up to my high end holy grails or they don't target my needs/wants, which I why I'll turn to a high end product.

I've never used high end makeup. It's always been drugstore makeup because of the cost. I've always wanted to try brands like MAC and Sephora and all of that. But for me it's always been Maybelline and Loreal.

I do love the high end packaging, but the quality of the drugstore can be just as good or better than high end, I own a mix of both types of products, so I'd say both :)

It's really just preference. I typically only use high end foundations, (NARS, Estée Lauder, etc) But I use both high end and drug store mascaras & lip products. (Too Faced, Benefit, NYX and Maybelline.) When I go to ulta, I usually head straight over to the prestige (high end) side but there's nothing wrong with drug store brands. You get what you pay for with both sides.

It depends on availability and pricing, I only have two high end makeup things. I honestly prefer drugstore makeup because all of my best looks have been with drugstore makeup, plus the availability isn't very good for high end makeup in my area. the nearest sephora is over twenty miles away and the same thing with ulta.

I have a variety of both high end and drugstore. There's a few higher end items I've repurchased multiple times and same goes for my drugstore items.
Although sometimes I feel I buy more drugstore ítems because I must admit I go to the store and see something new and "I must try it" :)

Personally I use mostly high end makeup because when I used to use only drugstore makeup I wasn't getting the results that I wanted. I'm willing to spend the extra money to properly achieve the looks I want and get the results I desire.

Honestly, some high end brands use exactly the same ingredients that drug store brands use. Some high end brands do test on animals just like some drug store brands do. Of course when you go for high end makeup, you're getting what you pay for. But let's just put it out there that I would never pay $90 for a louboutin lipstick considering you're really only paying for the brand!! Of course people are going to say that oh drug store products are bad due to the ingredients but makeup is makeup!! Plus, there are many dupes for high end lipsticks in drugstore brands. I think it all depends on the person and the money they're willing to spend but in MY opinion, drugstore makeup really isn't that bad.

Hi beauties! Which do you prefer and why? Drug store or high end. Decisions decisions.. 🤔
