Any idea how much this color would cost at a salon?

I want to dye my hair a red like this but I was curious to how much it would cost to get done at a salon? I asked my hair stylist and she told me 150 dollars every time I would get it dyed/redyed. I thought that was a little on the expensive side but I'm not sure, is it?

As always as thanks :)

Well, if she's a master, that's about right in my city, but would include a trim and blowout/curl/style..possible a gloss and deep condition. You're looking at a double process initially on the while head. Roots and refreshing color might be less. (That price may include Olaplex if you use bleach) I wouldn't pay that much for a stylist who was not a master colorist and master stylist. That's important to me.

Double process always costs more money. You'll need to lift to get that vivid and bright a red, based on your profile pic. I do know where you can get it done for less; if you have a Floyd's 99, they specialize in edgy styles and are a Paul Mitchell product salon, but a few friends work there and often bring in their own colors. They are in the states nationwide, so I'd check Yelp. Definitely compare their estimates.

Heads up, red fades quickly so the maintenance involves more than the salon. Vivid red is also a huge commitment, like black. It doesn't pull as easily if you transition to another color later. Plus, factor in you most likely will see damage. Good luck and the color is lovely. I'd also consider other reds that may be less labor intensive.

No my stylist is not a master so I was kinda unsure on the price. Also thanks for the tips! I've wanted for about 2 years and have heavily researched ahah! I'm just trying to find the right person for it and figure prices out I feel my stylist isn't right and she was kinda rude about the color in general :/ thank you so much for the help again

I would say 150 to 200 for the first time (bleaching root to ends and coloring root the ends) and 120 to 15p for the retouch. that would be charging for 2 single processes with extra color). like mentioned before, you could keep up with it in between by using manic panic or special effects. also if you did a shadow root (darker root, close to your natural color) it would save a ton of money on touch ups.

Thanks for the help! What manic panic dye and color would you suggest for that red color Kelly?

When I colored my hair red I use l'oreal highlights and ion brights. Here is a link with a tutorial similar to what I did, except I mixed the ion color with water.  https://youtu.be/aiiXGgjmoMM.

Again, I didn't use peroxide with the semi permanent dye and I got the same results. Your hair looks light in your profile picture, I think you could use vol 20 peroxide with the l'oreal.
