My hair is extremely extremely damaged after bleaching and I lose a lot every time I brush (it doesn't fall out, it breaks off). it became visibly thinner and muuuch more sparse. I don't know what to do because I feel like it will all fall out. if I go to my natural color (brown) using a nice natural dye and try growing it out, it will be even more damaged. I deep condition every week and yeah, I really need help
thanks in advance xx

You really need to cut off the damage length, otherwise it'll just continue up the hair shaft. I'm not saying you need a full pixie cut but the more you cut the better.

Thanks for the replies guys! I'm really really not brave enough for a pixie (the people I go to school with are really judgemental and already gave me shit for going platinum)/don't feel like it would look good and my hair is already approximately chin length if that tells you anything. thanks again

That breakage is due to your hair losing protein.
You need protein treatments to strengthen your hair which will prevent that breakage.
Conditioners usually only soften and add moisture.
There are some that have protein but there is usually only a small amount so that you can use it daily without side effects that happen when you use too much protein (hair gets hard and brittle)

I highly suggest getting the Aphogee treatment there are two products. The white bottle is what you'd want (first step) and rather than the second step I prefer the hair chemist macadamia deep conditioner which is very nourishing

BUT to answer your question, a natural dye will not cause more damage to your hair so long as you don't have to mix it with developer.
You may have to dye it twice though if it's platinum or use a filler color to prevent it from turning green.

I think taking care of your hair right now will go a long way. Try to save the length you have now and the protein treatment will help strengthen the hair that's left from breakage and prevent further breakage allowing your hair to grow better and be able to fill out

Try putting almond oil on your hair for at least 30 min. before you shower. Make sure you have some throe all your hairs. When you shower make sure you remove all the oil by shampooing a lot. Do this 3 or 4 times a week. It should help.

You can only do so much with treatments. Bleaching your hair not only removes proteins, it physically removes the pigment molecules that naturally appear in your hair. Those molecules, like proteins, take up physical space, and actually help your hair retain moisture, so when they aren't there, your hair texture will suffer. There is no way I know of to effectively reverse the damage to the point that you won't notice it, and protein treatments can only do so much (in fact, overdoing it can lead to even more breakage).

It honestly sucks, but the best way to deal with severely damaged hair is to cut it off. You will stop the breakage from traveling further up the hair shaft than it needs to for your hair to become manageable, and if your hair is breaking simply by you brushing it, that sounds pretty bad already and you don't have much to lose. I honestly think you'll enjoy having your hair not break everytime you touch a tool to it more than you'll dislike people making fun of you for having shorter hair, but everybody's different.

Resist the urge to heat style as much as possible. Let your hair air dry after showering, with leave in conditioners to help seal in moisture as much as possible.
