Does it look like a blister? Does it itch, sting, or have a scab?

Looks like a pimple to me. It'll go away eventually. Sometimes I'll get a little pimple right there too. Just in case, don't kiss anyone who has something like that around their mouth. It could be a cold sore and those are contagious. It could also be a canker sore.

And whatever you do, don't mess with it or it'll get bigger and more red.

I was concerned that it is a cold sore. I have HSV-I and it is so common that literally anyone can pick it up from anywhere. In this case it sounds like a pimple (squeezing blackheads can actually force bacteria deeper into the skin). But if it starts to itch, blister, or spread, see a doctor to make sure it isn't a cold sore.
