Foundation over sunscreen does not make your sunscreen ineffective.

What do I do? :( I want to get rid of them.. I'm not even 20 yet, I shouldn't even be thinking about wrinkles yet..

There can be a lot of factors. How do you sleep? Do you wear sunscreen? Do you rub your eyes? Do you use an eye cream?

I usually sleep on my back or side, I don't wear sunscreen often but I live in San Francisco and we don't get much sun, I do rub my eyes when I have bad allergies, and yes I use two eye creams (one for day one for night, but I don't really like them, they don't do much)

Can you recommend me a good eye cream?

Mandi, is sunscreen still effective if worn under makeup? Sorry if that's a stupid question, but I want to make sure I'm protecting my skin properly!

Do you wear glasses? Or have probably with your eyes?

I have glasses but I only wear them right before bed if I need to do something after I take my contacts out. I haven't had them for almost a month though since I'm visiting my parents and I left them at home

I swear by philosophy's retinol eye cream...the retinol is buffered/time release so it's not at all irritating...I noticed a difference after about 2 weeks

How much water do you drink? Your pict looks a bit dehydrated and the skin there is very thin which causes it to have a bluish cast. The tannin in the tea bags will shrink the vessels and skin there. Also try preparation H I know many top film and Rock stars who swear by it. Good luck.

I drink water constantly so I don't eat all day haha. I've done research on Preparation H and they actually don't use the ingredient that shrinks under eye bags anymore in the US. I'll give the Philosophy one a shot.. Not looking forward to spending that much though..

I was instructed not to put it on the top eye lid...to apply under the eye and take whatever's left on my finger and pat onto the top lid to keep a minimal amount on the top lid...that's what I do and it doesn't creep down into my eyes and sting

Kayli the sample I first got from sephora lasted me over a week...so you can try it out a bit before you commit to purchasing it...but my tube always last me over 2 months...because it just takes the tiniest little bit

Tonita: not to be a bitch or anything but I just want u to have the right information. Wearing foundation over your sunscreen makes it ineffective. Sunscreens absorb or reflect uv rays so when you put foundation over it it basically just defeats what it's trying to do so its not going to protect your skin. I would suggest getting a foundation and a powder that has SPF in it but just remember that that doesn't really increase your protection. I included a pik on how doubling protection works from my school book. Hope this helps.

Those lines are normal. Lots of people have them. As you get older your skin loses moisture and that area under your eye loses its plumpness, hence, the line. Moisturizers/eye creams can diminish it somewhat by rehydrating your skin, but don't expect it to go away.

Do you pull on your eyes when applying eyeliner? If so it can cause premature aging which is basically wrinkles. Try some eye cream, there is many options you have. If you apply your makeup right you can hide the wrinkles, look up tutorials on youtube.

I don't pull on my eyes when I do eye liner, it makes it way harder in my opinion haha
I'm not getting Botox, I'm not even 20 yet!!!

I know this site is international - if you live someplace like Australia it might be the intense sun causing damage. Examine your diet? Small nutrient dense meals every 2-3 hours. Good nutrition plus avoiding soda and chemicals in your food. Caffeine is supposed to help topically.

I was simply trying to point out that doubling protection works the same with your foundation and powder. For example if u put an SPF 15 on and then your cover up has an SPF 15 it's not going to give u any extra protection and make it a 30 because most people think it does. so i wanted her to know that its not going to up the protection its going to insure that her spf 15 Is still at a 15spf. It works the same way as if u were to use a 30 instead of a 15 it's not double the protection.

And it clearly says in that article about sunscreen and makeup that you need to use a makeup with an SPF on top of your moisturizer with SPF. Her question was talking about regular makeup which a majority of them don't contain SPF which IS going to defeat the purpose of the sunscreen under it. The only way to insure she's still protected is to use a foundation with SPF which u said u use but u did not say is a requirement for optimal protection which it is.
