When dying your hair red what are some on the best tips to reduce fading?! My hair fades so fast :(

Obviously use res enhancing or color treated shampoo, conditioner, and styling aids. I think a red glaze after two weeks or so would help, too. Make sure you aren't using super hot water in the shower! Hope that helps:)

You can put some dye in your conditioner that way you deposit some color when you condition. I would maybe buy a separate bottle of conditioner to do that with though, just so you have a normal condition around for when you don't feel you need to deposit any color. I'm not sure how that works with brands of dye though. I've only ever heard of doing it, I haven't done it personally so I'd do some further research on that.
Also, John Frieda has a good line for colors that helps keep whatever color its designed for vibrant.

Always wash with sulfate free shampoo. Don't wash it more than about 3 times a week, dry shampoo in between. I will sometimes liven it up in between dyes by putting a semi permanent red on over my hair for a glazed type effect. I've never needed to try the conditioner and gel based dye method. I dye my hair every 2 months or so. It's not as hard to keep up as a lot of people think! haha

Oh yes, wash with cold to lightly warmed water is a must with any color dyed hair.

Red glaze.. Try not to wash your hair more than you need to. Deep condition and provide a color protecting finishing serum (Moroccan Oil or Aveda's sells great color care treatments for the hair!)

They have a shampoo at Sally's that is red as color washes out the red shampoo puts it back in. A friend of mine uses and she swears by it it's at Sally's beauty store idk the name but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't hard to find.
