JEEEEEESUS. This is the most amazing primer I've ever used. For an example, anyone here like concerts? Outdoor ones? In the summer? Well then, you probably have been to Warped tour. And you feel like you're melting at the end of the day, no? Not anymore! It was 100+ degrees and I was fully outside the entire day and not a single crease from when my makeup was applied around 10am to when I came home about 12 hours later. Very impressed, and would definitely buy again.
I've had three of these primer potions since I started wearing make-up. I thought it was the best thing in the world...until I ran out. I would wait for so long to buy more because it would be a bit out of my price range. My friend told me something that I will never forget and will pass onto you all because it was the best advice for this prodect ever!
You know when you guys pull out the wand to apply it onto your lids, the excess amount gets squeezed off as you're pulling it out. And then you run out. You really don't. It's all clumped there, right at the top.
What to do? Perfrom surgery.
Cut the potion bottle open and you shall see your prize waiting for you at the opening of the potion bottle. And well because you can't leave the bottle cut open like this, take a tiny container, similar to MAC paint pot container, and with the wand scoop it out and put it in the container. You'll save a lot of money when you think you've run out and you really didn't. :)
I have used this primer for over a year now and so far it has lived up to it's hype. I have oily lids and this helps keep my eye shadow on and from creasing. It may seem expensive but trust me it will last since you only need the tiniest amount to cover the entire lid. I will continue to purchase this primer. Also I should note that I have very sensitive skin and this works great and doesn't cause my skin any irritation.
I don't even remember how many times I've re-bought this product. Probably at least 6 times. My eyelids aren't super oily, but even the best quality eyeshadow always manages to crease and turn gross by the end of the day. This product makes any shadow or eyeliner last until I take it off. And sometimes, that can mean at least two days (I know, gross...but it happens).
I have a love/hate affair with the packaging though. I love it because it's really adorable. The “genie-like” aesthetic makes me feel like I'm performing magic on my eyes! I hate the packaging because its shape wastes the products because the doe foot wand can't reach it. To get the entire amount of product inside without throwing half of it away, take off the plastic tube lining on top with tweezers (you have to be forceful, but it will come off) Once it comes off, you'll be happy to know that your wand is now full of product to use for a few more months. After your wand doesn't pick up anymore product, this is where I perform cosmetic surgery.
Slice open the primer potion LONG WAYS (hot dog style) in half with an X acto knife. With a toothpick or a qtip, scoop out the copious amounts of product you were going to throw away into a little mini 5 oz screw top jar (like the little MAC sample jars) Seal it tight, and that product will last you even longer.
To apply, I unscrew the wand, dab a smidge of product onto my eyes then blend all around with my finger (make sure to blend along the lower lashline as well for undereye smudges). Then, apply a neutral base shadow to “seal” the primer potion (any beige or off white will do depending on your skintone). Apply eyeshadow as usual! The whole process takes about 30 seconds and is worth every bit of it.
It's a fantastic product, I just wish they would repackage it slightly. However, that's not enough to deter me from buying it 6 MORE times.
When UDPP first came on the market, it was kind of revolutionary. There had been other eye primers before this, but UD's worked much better. Since it completely saturated the market, other companies have released this new type of primer and some work better than UD and some work about the same. I used UDPP faithfully for several years, even when it was impossible to buy because the production could mot keep up with the demand. A few years ago, prior to UD's package redesign, I noticed that UDPP wasn't working as well for me. I don't know if my skin chemistry changed or if UDPP's formula changed, but instead of 12+ hours of wear, I would be good to get 8. I have heard other people claim that UDPP worked brilliantly for them and then suddenly stopped too, so I don't think this is isolated. I have tried several other primers since UDPP stopped working for me, and right now I would say my favorites are ELF and MUFE.
I've used all four of these, and I cannot say a bad word about them. My eyeshadow lasts all day long, and the eyeshadows are always true to color. The original and sin are most definitely my favorites. The best part is that sin, eden, and greed can work as cream shadow on its own & it looks fantastic.
I was using ELF primer before this...definitely glad I made the switch! I even use it before I shade in my brows (it doesn't take a lot) and it keeps all my little hairs in place lol. This is a great buy and it's not too thin and not too thick either. Perfect consistency!
