I think the general consensus on this palette falls into a few camps: 1) formula is nice, color selection is confusing 2) formula is nice, too many repeat shades 3) palette is too expensive for a multitude of shades ND has done before.
Truthfully, I agree with most of those critiques – my biggest caveat for this palette is that it still needs more variety – the golds (Penny & Fuse) and the two blues (Enigma & Symbol) are far too similar, and a few plum, magenta, and taupe shades would've really spiced up the fall aspect of this palette. And I would've loved a forest green shimmer to accompany Royal. Additionally, if you have Sunset & Gold, I'd skip this unless the different colors are really different enough to catch your eye.
Despite those cons, I honestly highly recommend this palette, even enough to give it 5 stars. The formula is excellent, and ND has gotten so close, if not perfecting the cream-to-powder formula. It is easy to build up and blend out, and in my opinion serves as the base for a number of gorgeous eye looks. If she had taken a variation of the mauve and burgundy tones from Lila and put it in this palette over some of the other duplicate shades this palette would be even more fantastic in my opinion.
The metallics are her standard quality with Mace, Noble, Jubilee and Crest being some standout favorites of mine. I have noticed fallout with the gold shades on the left side of the palette, but not too bad. I also find the quad format is a lot of fun in pushing me to use different looks than my usual fare, such as more editorial looks with Noble-Jubilee-Symbol-Imperia, or sticking to a neutral look with Enigma-Pure-Antique-Helena (with Enigma serving as a liner with a pencil brush).
Overall, I've had a lot of fun with this palette, and I don't regret getting it. If you're really hesitant, I would definitely wait for a sale, then even w/the similar shades it's a good palette for the money. But it's definitely going to be a staple of my collection.
I agree that there are repeat shades, that the palette is expensive, that there needs to be more variety in the shades within the palette, but even knowing that, I bought the palette anyway. I don't regret it.
If you don't own any other Natasha Denona palettes like me, then this is perfect one for you. The pan sizes are not gigantic like in her other palettes - it's just perfect. I love the 20's Gatsby color story. I can create a multitude of looks with just the palette or even more when I combine it with some of my other palettes.
The shades perform beautifully and I love working with them. They blend together well, layering on top to make different interesting colors which makes this palette even more versatile. I wish there were more of those lovely matte shadows in here. They are the star of the palette for me, even over her gorgeous shimmers.
Who is this not for? If you own all her other palettes, then I would pass on this. There will be so many dupes if not exactly the same shades from her other palettes that I don't think it justifies the price tag. Unless you're a collector or you want to use this as a travel palette (perfect size).
I don't have any of her other palettes, but using this one has made me much more curious to try more of her brand. If that was her intention and market, then I think she succeeded! At least with me :)
This is Natasha Denona on a whole new level of excellence! This is my new favorite eyeshadow palette. Whether you enjoy lots of color or stick to a more natural look, this palette has it all. The pigment is great and all the shadows blend like a dream...per usual with ND shadows. I’ve never been disappointed with Natasha Denona, so I knew I would like her newest creation, but I am very impressed! Sure, she is somewhat pricey but I insist her products are well worth the extra coin. P.S. I also would like to add that Beautylish is wonderful! From the easy to use shopping experience to the personal attention given to each package, I am always left feeling like I am their most important customer. Thank you to Beautylish customer care for always making my shopping experience exceptional. Your hard work and compassion is evident.
I love it! The quality is superb and Natasha Denona can do no wrong. The shade selection is perfect for my skin tone and the new formula is so much better than any other palettes I have tried.
Don’t let how this palette looks online fool you! The layout and colors of it were intimidating to me at first but I couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I finally purchased it. As soon as I swatched all of the shadows, the colors inspired me so much! And I was very pleased with how it was packaged and shipped, as always with Beautylish!! Definitely one of my new faves.
This pallet is gorgeous. The pigmentation of the colors are incredible. Natasha Denona are the master of the pallets.
I've been waiting for the Metropolis Palette to fully try Natasha Denona eye shadows. the colour story is beautiful if you like greens, blues, golds and naturals. You can make so many different eye looks and the eye shadows blend like a dream. I think if you are going to spend the money choose this palette as there are 28 colours that are smaller than her normal palettes, and let's face it who ever goes through a whole palette!!!
It’s one the best products that I have bought this year. I love the cream to powder matte formula especially you can build up and or sheer out with out issue. The Metallica are gorgeous and beautiful. Works best with fingers or silicone applicators. There are a balance of warm neutrals, bold shades and gold jewellery tones that makes it an aio palette. I love it.
There’s no better silky consistency then Natoshas. The colors are beautiful. So easy to work with there is nothing like this pallet
Great palette for fall. Beautiful pigmented colors and last long particularly on a 12 hour day. Well worth the price!!
