So sad to say but I can't work with this
I love Danessa Myricks, I have her waterproof bright cream palette and it's great! Super bright! I saw recently that Depyxim (or whatever the brand's name is) was doing some cream paints just like these, but these looked a little better given the amazing reviews on Beautylish or Youtube. I was SO sad to say that I can't work with this whatsoever. I picked four shaes, the primary red, yellow, blue and the white because those are staples in a MUA's kit. I don't know how but air goes in this product the second you open them, making my first tube (the yellow one) dry out only a few months after opening it. If you don't use these EVERYDAY, you end up throwing a lot of product away and it's very sad. Formula-wise, I don't understand how to use them. I know that they are fast drying and "won't budge" but actually they REALLY don't budge. I only started blending the shadow, I already have huge patches making the lids look dry and just... terrible. The only one that dries a little bit slower is the blue one BUT it's very very very sheer and patchy. On the lips? Oh nonono, it's the dryest liquid lipstick you could ever have, even as a stain. Duraline will not mix well with it... Mac's mixing medium won't either... I am very confused because I see her masterclasses, I see tutorials, I see reviews all the time and when it comes to me using it, it doesn't work... I find these somewhat useful on the cheek, but then again, one out of three times only. I thought I had a dud at first because I only opened the yellow one when I got it, but it seems like it's all of the shades. I wanna give the brand another chance and I would love to try other formulas (foils and glazes look amazing!) but the mattes really don't work for me.24 found this helpful.Heidi V. Mar 30, 2019
All Day Long
These mattes last all day long. They are super easy to apply as an all over lid colour using a Wayne Goss 18, and a little goes a long way! Although a long lasting formula, they are easy to remove with regular cleansers (I lazily use my Drunk Elephant face wash). My only annoyance is my choice of colours, coffee cake and spice are so similar on the lid, I wish I chose something more adventurous!23 found this helpful.TeamEVE P. Apr 28, 2019
Monochromatic & All Day
ColorFix is a medium you can use eyes, cheeks, lips and pretty anywhere you allow your imagination to take you. Great for an easy to achieve monochromatic look.
I used ColorFix on my eyes and lips and it didn't budge for 10 hours. I wash it off easily before going to bed.
Warning: a little goes a long, long way.
Danessa Myricks has become my favorite brand ahead of Surratt & Pat McGrath.11 found this helpful.Florinne D. Aug 20, 2020
I bought the primary colors (YBR) less than 6 months ago, they're all completely dry ! I haven't used it or opened them once.. (Bought them before lockdown). I've others colors from the colorfix range for almost a year+ and they're still usable and not dry at all. Do they have a different formula ?8 found this helpful.Deirdre B. Aug 04, 2020
Dries out too quickly
I bought a bunch of colors from Beautylish and also directly from her website and so disappointed on how fast they dry out. Really really really disappointed. I barely got any used from them. Sad to say that I can't recommend. Perhaps the packaging need to change to give more longevity.7 found this helpful.Jessica H. Jul 21, 2020
I was very excited to try this, but I received a dry one like some other reviewers. I had to squeeze the tube HARD to get the product out and it was so thick and cakey that it was difficult to blend. I purchased Fruit Punch and it is much darker than in photos online. If you’re not a professional MUA and want to use this product only once in a while, I’d say try Danessa’s other products.6 found this helpful.Kristin R. Jun 28, 2020
not for beginners but worth the effort
Great for an MUAs kit. In my profile pic I have rustic on my eyes, cheeks, and lips. They will also work as mascara, liner (even on the water line), and brows. I have a few of these in all four finishes, and I love them for when I need a bulletproof look to last a VERY long time. Prep the skin with oil to help sheer out the pigment. A teensy bit goes a very long way, and once it sets it will not budge. I have more neutral colors in the mattes (rustic and desert rose), and now that I've figured out how to use them I want them all! Very versatile.2 found this helpful.
