Beauty Product Reviews

Wow

It’s gorgeous. Goes on so easily, looks so GLOWY but never oily. I didn’t find it cracked or creased on me. I used a little setting powder on shiner areas and it lasted all day. Layers well, too. I used it with a brush and a sponge. I had a slight preference for the brush but both worked. The finish is truly amazing.

Nude Dip for ever

So yes, they're pricey. And yes, some shades can be hit or miss. But Nude Dip might be the greatest shadow quad ever. It's simply stunning. Sexy, shimmery, kind of a wet look but not...you can do almost anything with it and it goes with anything.

Add to that Cocoa Mirage (my all time favorite neutral palette) and Honeymoon and you really don't need anything else.

The formulas are unlike anything else I've tried and (to the dismay of my partner) I've tried a lot, particularly high end, and this is such a stand out.

so I'm technically saving you money :-)

It is FABULOUS.

Truth time - I bought this based on the name alone. REviews are so, so mixed that I figured I'd either adore it or hate it with abandon. Spoiler - I love it.

Lasts forever on the skin and somehow it smells a little different each time I put it on. The scent kind of defies description. It's conventionally masculine while also being incredibly feminina. Soft and hard. Warm and cool.

I cycle through a lot of scents, disliking most. It's always an indicator of how much i love something by how often I reach for it (almost every day) and how often I sniff my own wrist when I'm wearing it (all the time.)

Plus when someone asks what are you wearing, you get to say "It's F-ing Fabulous" which is fun.

No other mask like it

I believe skin care is more than just something we do to fend off time's ravaging. I think it's time I spend on just me, a moment to be selfish. So I make time for it and treat it as something a little special - 15-20 minutes out of my day to spend on myself.

Masks are normally not really my thing. Sheet makes get so cold, hydrating masks are using fleeting in effect. But the Problem Solver actually solves problems. As a 46 year old women moving into perimenopause with combo skin, I've started getting acne along my jaw line and chin for the first time in my life, really. This ended it. Period. Well, this plus the Youth Dew. It's just gone.

I create my maks by mixing some warm water in a small bowl with the unbelievably yummy smelling powder and apply it. Then I light a scented candle, throw on a podcast or some relaxing music and just completely chill. There's a tiny bit of warmth on the skin once applied, but not irritating to me and, once I rinse it off, this mask gives results. The kind that last. I only use it once a week, but my skin is so much more clean and vibrant looking. I will never be without it.

You'll have to rip the Blue Cocoon out of my cold, dead, hydrated hands.

The gold standard in hydration. Costs a fortune, but this jar is going to last a year. I use it every where. Face, under eye, feet, hands, lips. Anywhere my skin needs TLC, I apply Blue Cocoon.

Smells amazing, like all of May's products. Feels great on. It's oilier than Youth Dew (strangely enough) so i would not use it under makeup. But for winter nights or post-cold or when you just need some effective luxury, this is it.

Finally, as I mentioned above, I use it, sparingly, under my eyes at night. I've yet to find an eye cream that doesn't make my under eye dryness worse. This is my holy grail solution to firming up my delicate under eye skin and making those little cross-hatch lines recede.

Unlike any other cleanser you've tried.

First, a bit about me. 46, combo skin with very dry patches and very oily ones. Light rosacea. And a skincare obsession.

May's Clean Dirt is unlike any other cleanser you've used. It's a powder form - you can be forgiven for thinking you're mixing a smoothie when you first open the bottle. The smell - rich and deep and fall-like - is stunning. You add warm water, create a paste and then use like you would any other cleanser. It is a tad abrasive. I hadn't used a physical exfoliator in a while so it took a little getting used to. And I don't use it every day - usually 3 times a week. But I don't find it irritating on my skin at all. It removes every trace of makeup, oil and grime from daily living, leaving you with a clean, fresh and bright complexion. I adore it.

Luxury at its best

Do you need The Youth Dew? Probably not. Do you want The Youth Dew. Yes, yes you do. I have been on a quest for years to find the products that work the best for my skin, even if they're on the pricey side, which this is. But it works like crazy. My skin (I'm 46 with super combo skin - very dry cheeks with some light rosacea and very oily nose and chin, along with pronounced pores) and this is almost miraculous for me. Absorbs beautifully into all areas of my face, hydrating the dry bits, and seeming to modulate the oily parts. Smells great and a little goes a long way. It's calmed my skin down a lot (the redness) and has regulated oil production so that everything is more balanced. Youth Dew plus Blue Cocoon is magic.
