Beauty Product Reviews

I have to say that I don't hate this product half as much as many people that use it and have actually gone through two bottles of it (I didn't plan on repurchasing it, but someone gave me it as a gift and I thought I may as well use it up). I first purchased this product to use on days when I didn't feel like doing full foundation and I have to say that it served that purpose well. I have very clear skin that almost never breaks out, so this product was good for just making my skintone more even. It's a very liquidly product, though, and always made my skin sort of shiny so I would set it with either Hard Candy's Welcome Matte powder or NYC'S Smooth Skin loose powder and it would look fine. Admittedly, it did fade over the day, but I wasn't all that concerned about it since I did only use it on days when I wasn't going to be all that busy or in public often. I went through a kick recently where I used this product almost every day, and I noticed my chin began to break out really badly. Although I did like this product (though it certainly had its flaws), I really didn't like how using it regularly broke my almost always clear skin out. Time to search for another BB cream, I guess. :(

I think that I've been using this eyeliner for about six or seven months now and I have to say that it's definitely my holy grail. I used cream liners for a long time, and still do, but I find that they require a lot more effort then I'm willing to put in after doing a full eyeshadow look. I was using Maybelline's Line Stiletto for months, but once I discovered this, it was all over. This stuff is super black, and the brush tip makes it so easy to apply. The tip of it is really fine, so it's easy to create any sort of line that you want, especially the perfect winged liner. On my super oily eyelids, this eyeliner doesn fade throughout the day, so I would recommend putting a primer underneath. Also, it doesn't dry matte so if that is the desired finish that you want, you'll have to set it with black eyeshadow (though it doesn't really bother me so I never do). I'm not sure that I've ever noticed any difference in my lashes since I started using this liner, but I honestly don't even care, I just love this eyeliner for how easy it is to apply and how good it looks! Would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a super black, super easy to apply liquid liner that lasts all day.

The first time I bought this product last summer, I was sooo disappointed in it. I was really used to using Maybelline's Falsies mascara, which is a much thicker formula that quickly builds upon itself. A few months ago I kicked the Falsies to the curb, mostly because after trying a lot of mascaras over the summer I realized that I couldn't stand how clumpy and gluey feeling my lashes would get after using it. I decided to give this product another chance and really liked it! My lashes are thick, but short, so I using a lengthening mascara first and then put this over top, and it really does look lovely. It separates my lashes, and the best part is that it doesn't feel heavy and doesn't get crunchy or brittle after drying. I would recommend doing a few coats of this mascara if it's the only mascara you're going to use it, though, because it does require a bit of work if you want really volumized lashes.

I have to say that I'm one of the people that truly does not understand the hype behind these lip butters. That being said, I do own three of them in Sweet Tart, Peach Parfait, and Tutti Frutti. Or, I did own three of them. I recently threw away the one that I had in Peach Parfait, because it broke just as I was reaching the end of the product itself. I'm really disappointed in these products, Peach Parfait especially, because I think that the colors are beautiful and they feel great on the lips. However, they fade after only about twenty minutes of wear and will cling to any dry patches on your lips. I've found that Sweet Tart and Tutti Frutti also leave a telltale ring around the edges of the lips while the rest of the product has faded. I think that these products are great for makeup beginners or anyone who just wants a quick pop of color that feels comfortable on the lips, but I will not be repurchasing anymore. They require far too much maintenance and reapplication during the day - I would rather be focusing on other things during the day than if my lipstick has faded for the 400th time. I would much rather stick to regular lipstick, and only have to reapply once or twice throughout the day.

I own several of these and I absolutely love them. They serve as a great base for colors or work well on their own, however, I would recommend putting at least a little bit of eye primer (such as UDPP or ELF's eyelid primer) underneath them, because they do crease on my oily eyelids after a few hours. All of the colors that I have in this product have generally worked very well (my favorite is a fall 2012 LE shade called Barely Beige, which I wish they would put in their regular line), but I will say that the first one I bought, in Too Cool, was absolutely awful. It went on very streaky, creased even with primer, and dried up about two months after I bought it (I'm thinking that I probably just got a bad one and plan on repurchasing it in the future to see if my experience with it is any better). In general, though, I really like these and would really recommend them - especially Bad to the Bronze. Apply it onto your eyelid, add a highlight, and you've got a quick, easy, and cute eye look. :)

I got a sample tube of this mascara as part of my birthday gift from Sephora and I was so excited to try it considering all the hype that it gets. After trying it, though, and giving myself some time to work with it, I have to say that I'm a little disappointed. I do like the mascara, but it leaves much to be desired with application and wear. First of all, the design of the brush is great but the bristles themselves are PAINFUL. I go from root to tip on my lashes and actually blink on the product, and the brush on this feels like it's scratching my tightline when I apply it. Not to mention, it made my eyes water. I love the end of the brush, because it makes it easy to apply product to the inner corners, but you really have to clean it off to avoid getting too much product on the little baby lashes of your inner corners. I did like the effect this mascara had on my lashes after I put it on, but once it dries it makes my lashes feel sort of dry, and then throughout the day it sort of flakes off and leaves smudges. I'm going to use up the sample I got of this mascara, because I do like how it looks on my lashes, but I won't be repurchasing. I was really hoping this would be my HG but, alas, my search continues.
