Beauty Product Reviews

Like the effect but not for a long day

I really love how this looks on the eye, especially in low light in the evening. It is perfect for an editorial look or a night out. My only complaint is that I have very hooded eyes, so it became a little uncomfortable after fully drying.

One and done

I bought the shade Strobe and I really like this shade.

The product comes in a metal squeezy-tube and a metal tool to make sure all product inside can be used. The consistency is creamy and the product can be applied in a thin layer and build it up. Although I have the feeling that building it up too much might result in crumbling. It is very easy to apply with fingers and gives you some play time until it settles. It dries down completely and it did not crease much on my very hooded eyes. Although I have to mention I don't have oily eyelids.

Strobe shade is similar to what is described. The shade looks more golden in yellow artificial light and more rosy-taupe in natural light (see photos). Overall I find this product to be a very nice one and done eyeshadow.

Have both palettes & enjoy them so much

Knowing the quality of Natasha Denona eyeshadow palettes in general and how much I enjoy them, I immediately bought both the Light and the Dark palette when they came out. In summary, I really like them both. See the images including the packaging, and the arm swatches of the light and the dark palette. Swatches from left to right in the palette shown top to bottom on the arm. Blush and highlighter are at the bottom.

Packaging: Gorgeous mirror like compact packages. Warning, if you have a thing against seeing your fingerprints, this might be an issue.

The eye shadows: These consist of highly pigmented creamy mattes, which are very easy to blend, complemented with beautiful high-shine shimmers. Really really easy to create a glam look with a single palette and I think this is the real strength of this product.

Blush: I apply the blush with a dual fibre blush brush and the color looks very natural. It is more on the browny red side than pink as can be seen in the images. It almost melts into the skin.

Highlighter: I am in love with the highlighter in the Light palette. I have light olive skin (Koh Gen Do 213 is a perfect match) and this shade looks really beautiful, and gives almost like a "wet shine" that is more on the warm side (light champagne maybe). This is a high shine highlighter and you can really build it up. I didn't find that it emphasized texture including my pores, so I really love it. The highlighter in the dark palette might be a little too gold for me, I think I prefer mixing it with a blush to make a glossy blush look.

All in all, these palettes will be super handy for traveling because you can have it all in one compact palette, but I can see myself continue using them daily.

Did I need to buy both? Not really. I would have been fine with just the light palette, but I do not regret buying the Dark one too because I really like the eye shadows in this one for a darker look. The shimmers are also so so beautiful.

Three seconds from zero to blinding

This is a really pretty highlight with a more loosely pressed powder consistency. The shade citrine is a light gold that looks beautiful on light olive skin. The particle size is not as fine as Stila highlighters (which give a wet look), but you can build it up to blinding in two swipes and it stays all day.

Unique palette

I really like how interesting and unique the colors and the textures are in this palette. Really beautiful product. I thought I would be enjoying the eyeshadows more, but the middle row has become my favorite as highlight or inner corner highlight. They are SO pretty.

Unreal

I have been using the Koh Gen Do Aqua foundation in shade 213, which I love, but when I saw some reviews about the Moisture foundation, I had to try it.

So it does have higher coverage than the Aqua foundation. Color 213 in both are the same and perfect for light olive skin. I mean PERFECT. There is no other foundation out there I found that matches me like this shade.

It has a thicker consistency, and it does come in a really small tube (if you think of the price). But I found that I need only little, so considering that, it would probably last me the same amount of time compared to a more sheer foundation.

I apply it over a balmy moisturizer + putty primer: and I cannot believe how unreal it looks! It is completely flawless. I could feel it is very moisturizing (good for my very dry skin), so I set it with Koh Gen Do brightening moisture powder + set it with setting spray. It held up quite well under a mask for an entire day, and my skin still looked very good after 10 hours! It also was quite forgiving on the fine lines although towards the end of the day, it did end up in my smile lines.

I would probably continue buying it as long as they keep making it.

Great product

I have bought Scarab, Infra nude and Ultraviolet and so far tried the first two.

I applied a single layer of the product on top of Urban Decay's eyeshadow primer with the provided applicator and let it dry for about a minute before continuing with the eye liner. Both colors stayed in place for 15 hours at which point I removed the make up.

The arm swatches and the actual color on the eye are quite different and in my opinion the color shifts are more visible on the eye because of the curved surface. That said, the product emphasizes the natural texture of the eyelids.

The color shifts are like nothing I have seen before and the colors you see really depend on the light. In my case, yellow indoor lights to bring out more the gold color, while white lights emphasized the green shifts. Daylight brought out more the pink to green shift in Infra nude. Moreover, the photos taken with a camera do not do justice to how they actually look in person.

The product leaves a dry feeling when on, and peels off while removing the make up. I recommend it if you like a sparkly, eye-catching look.
