Beauty Product Reviews

Holy Grail Red

If you're looking for a spot-on true red that will not fade to pink or maroon, this is the stuff. I swear I've tried damn near every brand from Urban Decay to Smashbox to Jeffree Star (Blood Sugar Palette), and NOTHING is as red, pigmented or blendable/buildable. This stuff is phenomenal.

Subtle perfection

I saw this while I was shopping Beautylish. I had never seen it before, but thought it sounded like something I could really use. Since Beautylish has such unbelievable customer service and free returns, I decided to take a chance on it. BEST DECISION EVER.

This stuff is absolutely FABULOUS! The effect is subtle, but it does EXACTLY what it promises, and having it my arsenal makes a huge difference. Anytime you have one of those hard lines that are really hard to blend out and diffuse, (anywhere in your makeup - foundation, eyes, contour, blush, etc) this is your solution. If you have ever wiped something off of your face and ended up with one of those hard lines you absolutely cannot seem to blend out (and if you add any kind of powder, with or without color, you're already-set makeup turns into a cakey, splotchy, totally unblendable nightmare) - you will flip for this stuff.

It's really hard to describe, as I have never seen ANYTHING like this product, but basically, it's a suuuper fine mist (I mean, like, you'll second-guess whether you've sprayed it, it's so light and airy) that makes your makeup easier to blend than it was in the first place. Like I said, the effect is subtle -- your makeup will suddenly work like it's just been applied. It won't be sticky, wet, or otherwise messy -- it'll just be perfectly blendable....YEAH I KNOW (I have ZERO idea how this works, but it's as crazy-good as it sounds).

HOW TO USE Shake it up (don't skip this), spray once or twice over face (it won't feel wet, it probably won't feel like you sprayed anything), and once on Beauty Blender (make sure it's saturated, just like you're going to apply foundation with it) or any kind of brush.

Back to Cinema Secrets

I absolutely love Beautylish, so I thought I would try a brush cleaner they carry. The reviews were fabulous, and I was fully expecting this stuff to blow me out of the water, but it was terrible! It was like citrus water -- it couldn't even pull the pigment out of my brushes, let alone clean them.

I can't believe that this was my experience, based on all of these five-star reviews. I mean, there's no way we're talking about the same product here! At any rate, Beautylish came through as usual; however, I'm definitely going back to Cinema Secrets.
