Palette seized shut, will not open

In typical Beautylish fashion, I received my order just days after placing it. I was SO excited when I saw this had been delivered, as it's a gift for my mom. When I went to inspect the palette (as I do with all fragile makeup purchases before gifting), I was unable to open it. It feels almost like the two components of the palette are seized together.  I remember reading reviews of Wayne's first palette here & seeing some that mentioned how difficult it was to open. I ended up ordering the first palette released (one for me, and one for my mom) and we both love it and have had zero issues (in regards to regards to opening or otherwise). I was very suprised when I received this item today and discovered this issue. I have carpal tunnel in my left wrist and I was barely able to get the palette open. By the time I finally pried it open my entire hand was tingling and my wrist was aching. This is not an exaggeration. I was actually in pain from prying the palette open. I've managed to get it open only twice, & this was after at least twenty attempts to do so. The second time I succeeded in opening the palette, I was very concerned that it was going to go flying across the room due to the amount of exertion I was forced to use in order to pry it open. My mother is 72 years old with severe arthritis and I don't feel safe gifting her this palette. If I am not able to get the palette open without causing pain, there is absolutely no way that she will be able to, nor would I even want her to try. It is unsettling to see that this is still an issue, bc this is apparently a known issue. As I'm writing this review my wrist is still aching. I'm bummed bc I really looking forward to gifting this palette to my mom. Wayne's first eyeshadow palette gave her the confidence to wear eyeshadow again, and it's upsetting that such a simple issue was not fixed by the time the second palette was released. I can only guess that this issue affects a small percentage of the palettes, bc as I mentioned above, my mom and I both have Wayne's first palette & have no issues with opening it, even though I know other people did in fact have issues with theirs.
