For my current pic I used a super cheap brand.; Conair from target... and I believe it's a 1in. I dont use the clamp.. i just use my hands to twist my hair around the barrel :)

Oh and most important to getting the bug waves... after curling brush your hair out with your fingers ;) Good luck!
