Beautiful Color

This is one of my first mascaras in a long while that is not waterproof. I normally wear waterproof mascara because I have allergies, and my eyes tend to water. The waterproof version of this mascara, however, does not come in burgundy, so I took the plunge and tried it out. This formula is great... it does not make my lashes clump, and it give them quite a bit of volume and length. I do find that I have to curl my lashes after applying again because this mascara causes them to droop, but I'm guessing this is because I'm used to wearing waterproof mascaras, which hold a curl much better. I love the burgundy color as well... it shows up as a beautiful dark, warm brown and is less harsh than wearing black. I tend to only apply this to my upper lashes to minimize the chance of it running if my eyes water, and I apply a different waterproof mascara to my bottom lashes. This does not smudge or flake throughout the day, and wears a good 12 hours. I would definitely consider purchasing this again!

Beautiful color, so-so formula

First off, I love the color Pillow Talk. It is the perfect pinky nude for me. I was, however, not impressed with the formula or staying power of this lip liner. It made my lips look full and lovely, but I couldn't get the liner to stay put for very long. I expected this to stay on, at least longer than the lipstick or gloss that I applied over it, but it wore off at exactly the same rate as anything I applied over top of it. Even when I wore it alone and let it set well before eating or drinking, it wore off quickly. To me, the formula was quite dry, and it did not apply as smoothly as I expected. I really wanted to love this after reading all the hype about it, but it didn't live up to my expectations.

Grainy texture...

I purchased this lipstick to go along with Charlotte Tilbury's Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk, thinking it would be a good match and complement it well. First of all, the color was much peachier than pictured. Maybe it's just my computer screen, but I expected it to be much pinker, which is what shade I was aiming for. I thought the packaging and tube were gorgeous, but would have appreciated a magnetic closure for the lipstick tube for all the money that I paid. Now for the lipstick formula... this line is supposed to be moisturizing while still having a long-wearing formula. I found that it was fairly long-wearing, but not at all moisturizing or replenishing. In fact, while pigmented, this particular shade was very grainy and not smooth-feeling at all. At first, I thought perhaps I received a bad tube, but then I examined the bullet closer and realized that it has glitter in it! There was no indication at all that this shade was shimmery, but it is. It doesn't translate a ton on the lips, but I think the shimmer changes the texture of the lipstick. I was highly disappointed by this, because for the price, it should have a buttery smooth formula, regardless of whether there is glitter. Maybe I would have been happier with a different shade, if there was no shimmer, but I'm not going to pay $32 again to find out. I'm sure there are some Charlotte Tilbury products that I would be blown away by, but sadly, this is not one of them.
