What we’ve been waiting for

I have been waiting for years for this. If you’re a WG follower like me, you know how much he loves cream foundation. I have tried his cream foundation recommendations over time and have never experienced anything like what he waited to perfect these years later. And I do mean perfect! This is truly amazing and unlike anything I have ever used. I do not like the feel of mask-like foundation and therefore I avoid so many. But this! I can’t even explain how it manages to cover what it needs to cover and yet feels completely weightless. A little goes a very long way. If you need to camouflage spots, it’ll do that too. And yet won’t look like obvious coverage. This is my second day of wearing it and it has lasted all day without separating or needing touch-ups. I also don’t love powder even though I know it’s necessary to really set makeup in place. This powder is like silk. Using the dual sided puff is fabulous for the application of both the foundation and powder. Again, very little powder needed. No white cast whatsoever. It simply perfects the look. For anyone on the fence about deciding what shade to order, I ordered shade 6 after looking at Wayne’s videos and the swatches Beautylish has provided. Turns out, for me, that it’s pretty much a perfect match. The shades are neutral, as indicated, but I will say that I have a peachy neutral skin tone and this is a great shade for me. My previous foundation of choice is TF Traceless Stick in either 3.7 or 4.7 depending on season and self-tan. Sometimes 5.7 if I’m really tan. WG shade 6 is somewhere in that arena. I feel that it’s always better not to go too dark because you can always warm things up with bronzer and blush. BTW this foundation is NOT drying by any means. My skin is the desert. My 70 year old skin needs eye cream, moisturizer and a moisturizing sunscreen before any kind of makeup. This leaves no flaky or dry appearance at all because it simply isn’t dry at all. I Wish I could compare the texture to something else but I can’t. And believe me, I have tried everything

BIG little treasures…

I had ordered these brushes when they first launched and when I saw the size, I put them away because I knew they’d be great for travel and with Covid I was, like everyone else, going nowhere. I’d forgotten about them. Until discovering that Sonia would be launching a new set of brushes based on two of these brushes in the set. I am in love. I will be dreaming about these brushes tonight ..no kidding. Sonia makes the best brushes on the market and I love them all, but there is something about theses brushes that make foundation go on like a cloud. I am 70 years old and I feel confident in saying that my skin looks perfect after using both the mini base and classic face in this set. My face is on the small side and they work wonderfully for me but even if you have a larger face, it’s the WAY the brushes apply and blend that’s key here. It’s almost like you have to try it, see it, to believe it. Love the eye brushes too. They’re small, yes. But they do what they need to do and better than most other brushes I have of any size. And now that we can travel…these are all you need. Perfection.

Think about this before you pass this up....

I have loved Wayne Goss from the very beginning. I have most of his brushes, the blush, and his first eyeshadow palette, the Imperial Topaz. I love that palette and use it all the time. I love the variations that can be obtained with a little experimentation. When I saw a preview of the Pearl Moonstone palette, I knew I would love the grays because the 2 mattes have some color (purple and blue) as opposed to being flat out neutrals. I have hazel eyes and those shades really bring out the color of my eyes. But I never thought I’d even think of using the iridescent teal. I’m almost 70 and have no place to go where I can pull off that kind of glamour. BUT mix that color in with one of the brown shades in the Imperial Topaz palette and you have the most beautiful khaki ever. And that’s the whole secret to these palettes. Using both gives you possibilities that you never knew were possible. I’m an artist so I do understand color mixing. But even if you don’t, you will surprise yourself by giving it a try. And those eyeliners! I was a little hesitant about that at first because I tend to use only black to tight line lashes and Wayne’s hazel which is the perfect brown-almost black for women like me of a certain age. (oh well). But these 2 colors...the blue sapphire and deep amethyst, are stunning. They are very dark so wearing them won’t ring your eyes in screaming color. They will enhance your beautifully without being obvious. I could go on forever about how happy I am with these purchases. Not to mention how happy I am with Beautylish, always. I mean, delivery in 2 days. That’s pretty much unheard of these days. And always, superb customer service.

Blush that leaves you breathless

To think that I almost passed on this! When I heard that Wayne’s new launch would be blush, I was a little disappointed. I have so many. But then I got to thinking that anything he puts out there, is nothing less than perfection. I ordered this the very minute it became available and it arrived today! That alone was amazing. I have never been so in love with a blush in my life. This color...Coral Rose...is so beautiful. It would look good on any skin texture, any skin tone. I think even the darkest of complexions since it’s buildable as well. And that highlight! I have tried so many and have never experienced anything like this. It’s stunning by itself. Like glass. Not a disco ball. The blush is stunning by itself. Together, the whole effect is ethereal. I gravitate toward warmer colors so I knew this would suit me best. But really I think I’d love them all. I think the word will spread very quickly on this and it will sell out. Don’t miss out by thinking you don’t need it. You actually do, if you’re a makeup lover like me looking for your best look ever.
