Beauty Product Reviews

Love these face brushes! So versatile!

I got this set part of a recent splurge and I love these brushes! My favourite brushes are Face Pro and Inochige Pro. Face Pro is shaped so perfectly to fit the contours of your face, making powder application so perfect. I look less powdery when I use this brush! The Inochige Pro is amazing for setting under the eyes and bronzing the face. The point makes it fit perfectly under the eyes and sits just under the cheek bones for bronzer. I will have to pick up a second one soon! The Cheek Pro is also wonderful to use - it picks up just enough product (regardless of pigmentation intensity of the blush) to add a soft blush to the face. As for the Detail and Fan Pros, I use then interchangeably for highlighter. Detail Pro is more intense while Fan Pro gives a more diffused highlight. Overall I really love this set and recommend it to natural brush starters like me!

If a finger was a brush, this would be it!

I used to struggle with fallout from applying shimmery and glittery eyeshadows with my fingers. This brush was the solution to the annoying fallout! It applies these shadows just like my finger tips but no fallout. I was honestly so surprised. I find I also don't need to pack on as much product to get the same intensity. Love this brush!

My first set of eye brushes from Sonia G and I love them!

I decided to splurge myself in May and purchased the Sonia G sky eye set. I do not regret my splurge at all! I have been using these brushes since I got them and I honestly can't go back to synthetic. These brushes blend eyeshadow like a dream and feels so soft on the lids. My favourite brushes in this set are the jumbo blender and classic crease.

Better than the lipstick but flaws with packaging

As with the lipstick, I really wanted to like and love the product since its by Wayne Goss. However, the gloss also has packaging flaws like the lipstick. When I remove the wand, there is a long string of gloss that pulls out and it drips everywhere. I have tried removing it quick and slow but nothing works to stop the long string of gloss. I started collecting the excess gloss in the inner tube but its now making a mess! As for the applicator itself, I don't like it. It doesn't evenly distribute the gloss very easily like usual applicators and gloops all the gloss on one part of the lip instead of slowly "releasing" the product on the lips. The colour Hibiscus is very pretty though, more frosty than I like, but looks good layered on top of a lipstick or lip liner. It has a slight peppermint taste/sensation but its not overly strong. The gloss formula is also not sticky which is a plus. Overall, the packaging flaws make it hard for to me like this product since its so messy. For $32 CAD, I expected packaging to be better.

Beautiful colour but doesn't live up to the hype or price tag :(

For $41 CAD, I expected a fairly luxe lipstick. To my surprise, the lipstick is smaller than conventional lipstick tubes. It does have some weight to it but I dislike that the cap was thin plastic and felt cheap. For the same price (or less), I can buy a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick which has a metal casing and is weighted on both the cap and base. Moving onto the product itself, I like the colour a lot. It is a peachy nude that looks nice on light-medium skin with warm olive skintone. Here are my problems with it: (1) It applies sheer and becomes patchy when I try to build it up. This is not an issue with my Charlotte Tilbury, MAC, or Pat McGrath lipsticks. (2) The lipstick continuously rubs the inner tube when I draw it up/down. I had thought the lipstick was dislodged but that isn't the case - its just too tight of a fit/poor quality control, so everytime I use my lipstick, I lose product and can't use a lip brush to pick it up (would damage the actual lipstick bullet. I have tried to reposition the lipstick bullet but it doesn't budge and I don't want to risk breaking the bullet. Overall, I am just disappointed by this lipstick and honestly feel betrayed by videos from Mel Thompson and Michele Wang :(

Super soft and super cute!

I managed to place a pre-order for this brush via email after missing out on the pre-order email but still had hiccups during shipping where it was shipped after the launch day purchases. Luckily my brush arrived in perfect condition! The bristles are oh so soft and the mouse design is just too adorable to pass up - especially since I am a Ray myself! It was definitely an investment piece in my collection!
