Beauty Product Reviews

On the lid? Smudgy.

Uh-oh. I absolutely love the deep gorgeous blue color and the little sparkles, but it smudges, and it smudges fast. I have neither dry nor oily lids, and I tried this on my powdered upper lashline this morning at 7. At 10, the color had travelled to my undereyes. I tried it straight from the pencil and did not smudge it. So I think it might not be so smudgy if you thin it with a pencil brush? You could also powder the line with an eyeshadow, but that would hide the sparkles. Anyway, a bummer. I do not use anything on my waterline so I cannot tell if this works better on there, though. Greetings from a Viseart fan from Finland! :)

Not for the most sensitive skin types

For my moody sensitive to normal skin type this is a very nice product to use once a week. I put this on a clean skin at night, wait for a half an hour, and put a cica sleeping mask on top. The sleeping mask assures that my skin does not act up and really takes in all the benefits from this exfoliating treatment.

I also bought this for my sweet little sister who has an extra sensitive skin type. For her this was a big no no. Her skin reacted quite rapidly and badly. So if you have a sensitive skin type, take precautions, test this first, and limit the weekly use to one or two.

If it turns out this one suits you, it really is a wonderful product. Isn't it nice it is such an affordable one, so you can actually test it without breaking the bank? :)

Update on my previous review

Six years later the brush itself is still absolutely awesome, but the handle has gone sticky and uncleanable. So if you are looking for a long-lasting brush, choose one that does not have this type of rubbery surface on the handle. Sad to say I had to throw my Heavenly Lux Jumbo Powder #3 to the bin today. :(

Surprisingly wearable, easy to build up in color

Guys, I was so pleasantly surprised by this petite gem of an eyeshadow palette. The colors are not in-your-face sort of pigments, but somewhat muted and soooo easy to use as a lovely soft wash of a color as well as a brighter look. They build easily, blend like a dream, and do not muddy up.

Compared to, say, Viseart Brights, these are more beginner friendly. There is enough pigment, though, that I bet this would work for those with the darker skin, too. But if you are expecting something super duper bright or neon type of a color, this is not for you.

I have somewhat oily lids, so I use primer. With me, these shadows last very nicely for eight hours, and even then you really have to look closer to see the creasing.

Every single time I have used this palette to create an eyelook, people compliment me. <3

In the upper photo I have 'Cheat Code' on the outer corner and crease, 'Twitch' on the center of the upper lid, and 'Continue?' on the lower lash line (I love that color!). I also have UD 24/7 liner from the GoT collection on my upper lash line and waterline, and a mint shimmer from TF Soleil et Lune palette on the inner corner of the upper lid.

In the lower photo I have '8-bit' on the outer corner of the lid and crease with a bit of 'Level Up' in the most outer corner. I used 'Player one' on the center of the lid and crease, 'Rage quit' on the inner corner of the upper lid, and 'High Score' through the lower lash line. On my waterline I used UD 24/7 liner from the Basquiat collection. On my upper lash line I pressed some dark plum eyeshadow from a Make-up Atelier palette.

On both photos I have on the Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara.

If you are interested in colorful makeup, especially if you are interested in including some color in your everyday makeup, I can wholeheartedly recommend this Sugarpill *Fun Size Mini Color Palette.

Easy to apply, lovely to look at, stays all day

Such a lovely mauvy nude shades in this wonderful little palette.

The only matte shadow is a perfect shade for crease (at least for a fair to light skintone), and the metallic shades all have their place. You can easily do an everyday look with the lighter tones or a sultrier night time look with the darkest metallic shade translating nicely into a darker crease shade. The staying power is very nice, and since the shadows are soooo easy to work with, I can highly recommend this palette for an everyday consumer like me.

And if you have a light matte browbone shade as a single shadow (I have a pink based and yellow based single in my makeup bag at all times to go with any palette), this 02 palette is all you need.

On the upper photo there is 'Light Coral' in the inner third of the upper and lower lid, 'Lavender Grey' in middle third of the upper lid, and 'Rosewood' on the last third. I used 'Maroon' as a liner with a mixing medium, and on the upper lashes I have dark burgundy mascara.

On the lower photo I have the 'Rosewood' and 'Maroon' in the inner corner of upper and lower lids, 'Light Coral' in the middle', and 'Maroon' in the outer third, with some black eyeliner and black mascara.

In both photos I have the matte shade 'Shell' in my crease and on the lower lash line. I used Inglot 'Eye Shadow Keeper' eye primer, did not set the lid with powder, and used my fingers to lay down the metallic shades on the upper lid.

Comparing these to my 2017 Holiday palettes 'Joya' and 'Aeris' as well as the no 06 palette, I think the formula of the shadows in 02 are closer to the 06 than the Holiday palettes. None of the 02 shadows have visible glitter particles (although they are very shiny), and the matte is not the thinner (yet equally nice) formula of 'Joya' or 'Aeris'.

I ordered my 02 palette from Beautylish on March 2019, and it came in the newer, more sturdy and sleek plastic package - nice.

And a shout out to Beautylish's e x c e l l e n t customer service! They cool.

Nice, but...

...ladies, lads, and all others, this lip treatment oil is lovely, true, but not to be bought if you can't afford it, imo. It works, it has a lovely aromatic scent, the dispenser looks cool and does its job, but the price is too high. You can get the same results with cheaper products. Also, notice the amount of product you get for the price. Even if you can afford the product with ease, the waste created by the packaging compared to the amount of product... No.

BR, Kaisa

P.s. For those of you still thinking about buying a high-end lip treatment: Compared to another wayyyy too expensive lip balm, by Terry's Baume de Rose, the Hourglass one has a lot better results.

Fiery. Meh. Lovely.

Dollish is fiery. Very pink, very gold, very fabulous both packed on and sheered out.

Stylish is meh. Chunky, uneven, and most disappointingly: when you sheer this one out, the glitter particles show up dark in certain light. I have in my stash the Rose Gold Retro of the first Glitter&Glow range, as well as Cloudy (my favorite!) and Sunset Cove of the later ones, and none of those have this kind of unappealingly visible particles as the Stylish one has. So, meh.

Embellish is lovely, and the most everyday wearable of these. I do not see so much the lilac in it as the description says, but it is a lovely toned-down color.

I think as a whole this is a nice little kit to try the product. Even with the disappointing Stylish you can make it work using it on top of a dark color. That way the dark particles disappear to the base.

I'd also recommend this to be given to your sibling, godchild, or your best friend as a fun little Christmas or Birthday present.

Inside good, outside what?

I have a sensitive combination skin, and when I find a moisturizer that works, I better not change it if not absolutely necessary. My current moisturizer is quite light, and in the harsh winter time my skin needs a bit more, so I bought the E + Chamomile drops last November to add a few drops to my moisturizer. (How many times can a person say moisturizer?).

And it's nice, it works. It makes the skin supple. It's not irritating. Nice.

However, when I just now, in June, picked the bottle up to clean the bathroom cabinet, the rubber part of the dropper was very sticky. You know, like a cheap plastic toy gone bad in the 80's. And the stickiness does not go away. I have a normal bathroom with normal conditions - not too hot, not too cold, not too humid etc., and I have never had this happen before.

Considering the price of the product, I say Yuck, do not buy.

Now I'm off to find a replacement dropper, or a whole bottle... Greetings from Finland!

Blonde is more warm than neutral - formula is lovely

I have a non-colored Nordic blonde hair with quite prominent red/golden undertone, and the Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in color Blonde is still a way too warm/orange for me. To be honest, the Beautylish color swatch above is very accurate so the error in color choice was mine.

The formula of the pencil is good. Soft but not too soft. And the shape is very nice.

I have to save some money and try the Platinum Blonde color. :)

Glow that gets the looks

Hi guys. I have cool toned light skin with strong pink/red undertone - a quite traditional Nordic skin - and I am a huge fan of these powders. I own all but the Ethereal Light shade. Here are my thoughts on them, starting from the least favorite to the number one.

RADIANT LIGHT: This is a very warm toned powder and I cannot get it to work on my skin tone. But I bet it's a great finishing powder for a warm medium skin! It has a lovely sheen finish, no glitters.

LUMINOUS LIGHT: This works for me when I'm tanned, but this one is more shimmery than, say, the Dim Light. For a medium or a bit deeper skin this would be a really lovely natural highlighter, I think. Like a glow within. I have used it lightly for the whole face, but it is a tad too shimmery for that, imo.

DIFFUSED LIGHT: This one has a yellow undertone and a very brightening effect especially under the eyes. If I use it on the whole face, my skin looks a bit off, but the warmer or neutral skin tones, fair to medium, could definitely use this as a finishing powder. I use it under the eyes on those not so fresh mornings. :) Mind you, this one has a bit of a microshimmer finnish, just like the Luminous Light.

DIM LIGHT: Oh, Dim Light, you grew on me. Yes, at first I thought this one is way way too dark for me, and it sure is on the winter time. In summer, however, it is a Perfect (notice the capital P) finishing powder. And I learned to use it on the winter time too! It is a wonderful light natural bronzer and even works as a contouring powder on the pale winter skin. No shimmer on this one - it's just magic - a glow withing - a filter for your skin. I think this might be the most universal of these powders.

MOOD LIGHT: Now, this is not a universal tone. As one review said, it may turn greyish on dark skin tones. However, it is absolutely gorgeous on my pink cool toned skin. I have no problem declaring my love for Mood Light on the top of the roofs everywhere. Every single time I wear this, I get "the looks" from the boys, and compliments from girls. When dusted lightly as a finishing powder, it gives me this otherwordly glow, and I can also use this as a blush for that natural flushed look. So if you have a cool pink toned fair or light skin, I can highly recommend this one.

I always use big fluffy brushes (the It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Jumbo Powder brush and the Chikuhodo Makie powder brush) for these, except when I contour with Dim Light.

The only one I have not tried yet is the Ethereal Light. I am hesitant, because the Diffused Light is already very brightening... How brightening can the Ethereal Light be? Do I want to be a beacon in the night? :) Greetings from Finland!
