Beauty Product Reviews

I fell for the hype

Well this product was a huge bust for me. I thought I'd give it a go since everyone loves it and I'm looking for a cheaper alternative since I'm on maternity leave and not making as much to splurge on my usual. It's awful! Doesn't apply nicely, doesn't buff into the skin, looks cakey, terrible finish, feels like putting glue on my face. It sits in every pore on my cheeks (even with primer). BLECH! Ok I feel like after I've raked it over the coals I should give it some shout outs: It does last all day, and controls shinyness very well. But that's just not enough for me to repurchase. Now to figure out what to do with the rest of the bottle...

Good drugstore lipstick

I just picked up a couple of these as they were on sale. I got candy pink and petal. Candy pink I don't find as vibrant on the lips as in the tube, but it's still a great spring pink, and petal was a little more frosty on the lips than when I swatched it in the store, but that's ok it's still pretty. I like that they are unscented cause I find most drugstore lipsticks smell gross. LOVE the packaging, very chic. A few people say they're drying, but I think they're fairly comfortable, maybe I'll change me mind after prolonged use. I'd get more...if they're on sale of course! lol

Too dark, only ok

I've been want to see what the deal with these BB creams were so I got this one when it was on sale. It comes in 2 shades, Light-medium and Medium-dark. I'm fair and the light medium is too dark for me. I'm hoping it will look good this summer. Feels a little greasy going on, but once it sinks in (takes a few minutes) it's alright. I've put nicer feeling foundations on my skin. Does even out skin tone and give pretty good coverage. It doesn't contain SPF, so you'll need to apply that first if you use it. I don't think I'd buy it again, but I am going to recommend it to my mom who has dry/mature skin. I think she'd like it.

My favourite!

I just started using this a couple months ago and already I've gone through 3 tubes! I love minty lip products. This is a mild mint, it just feels cool on the lips, not crazy tingly or strong like some mint products can be. Has a nice, smooth texture. Lasts a long time and is nice and moisturizing, great for winter!

Best mineral powder!

I love this product! This is my everyday "mom-on-the-go" foundation. I like to put on my concealer first with this, so that the powder will set it for the day. When I'm not using this as my foundation, I'll use it to set my liquid foundation if I'm looking for extra coverage. The only thing I wish is that it would last a little longer on the skin, but I think that anything in powder form will fade more quickly than a cream/liquid.

Long wearing!

Totally love this foundation! This is my go-to if I'm looking for a stay-put all day full coverage foundation. Feels light on the skin, buffs in easily. And it wears all day long. Love love love!

meh.

I didn't think this product is great. Didn't get all my eye makeup off and what it did take off, I really had to scrub off. Ended up throwing out half the bottle.

I LOVE THESE

These are the BEST candles! My favourite right now is the marshmallow fireside. They burn nice and evenly and the scent fills the whole room. A little pricey, but you can get them on sale pretty often so that's when I buy them.

Only ok

I just picked up the cherry one a couple days ago because it was on sale and I'm always for trying new lip balms. It's alright I guess. I don't find it super moisturizing (ie, I have to reapply more often than other balms) but the colour is a pretty pink sheen. But for the $6 (sale price!) I can think of a few other cheaper balms I like better. I won't be repurchasing

This is my favourite, everyday lipstick. It's kind of a mid peachy-pink. Love the creamsheen finish and texture, it's my favourite. I'm not so much a fan of the matte lipsticks though, I find them too drying for me, which sucks because I do love the look of a matte lip sometimes!
