Beauty Product Reviews

Gorgeous!

This set is beautiful, and I think it would be a great introduction set for someone who is new to the brand, or fine makeup brushes in general. And if Sonia G doesn't sell the soft definer as a single, my heart my be a little broken! It's the tiny brush of my dreams, something between a pencil and blender. I have three or four tiny blending brushes trying to find this brush, and none of the others were quite what I was looking for- they were either too big or too soft. This is firm enough to give you a lot of control but has enough fluff to be great for blending. Perfect for small eyes of detail blending. Please, please, please make this brush part of your permanent line!

streaky application?!

I've never been disappointed by a Sonia G purchase before, and I own all but about six of her brushes! Unfortunately when I used these brushes to do my foundation and concealer the application was streaky and no matter how much I buffed or stippled it was a mess. I ended up having to use my trusty beauty sponge to smooth everything out. Perhaps it would have been better if I'd used a cream concealer and foundation, but I like liquid products. It did apply the cream bronzer and blush well, so perhaps I'll just use these brushes for that, even though I wanted them mainly for foundation. I know that I could return them, but I don't think it's right or fair to Sonia G to return something so costly that could not be resold, so I'll keep them. I'm writing this review to caution those people who like liquid foundation that this might not be the set for you. Perhaps try a single brush first. They're very high quality, as always, but I really think they were made more for cream products.

My favorite S. G. set?

This face set is so beautiful it might just bring a tear to the eye of the true fude lover. Each brush is absolutely magnificent. I own many, many natural hair brushes and the Sonia G. brushes are the absolute best. I find each one of these brushes useful, and even better- a joy to use. It honestly makes getting out of bed and getting ready for work easier when I know I have these beautiful brushes to use. They're expensive, yes, but for the quality and the joy they give me, I feel it's well worth it.

nice powder, but has more pigment than expected

I't s a nice powder... but I've honestly found that to me I can't really tell that much difference between drugstore powders and high end powders, so I'll save the money. Plus, this powder had more pigmentation than I expected, and as I am very fair it actually added a slightly darker tinge to my foundation than I'd have liked. Half way through it I accidentally dropped it on the ground and the powder shattered, but ultimately I wasn't heart broken over it.

very good

excellent sharpener- I like that is has two holes, as I've found these two sizes useful for everything that I've wanted to sharpen. I've been using it about a year and half now and it's still going strong!

stiff and scratchy

You'd have to have very hardy eyes indeed to use this as an eyeliner brush, sadly. It is very stiff and scratchy and painful! It's more scratchy than some of my eyebrow brushes! Beautylish was amazing, though. I contacted them with my concerns and they refunded me immediately, no problems at all.

unique, awesome

This is a brush I really don't need, but I'm glad I have it. It's such a unique, cool little brush. I use it for highlighting and it's good for picking up harder packed highlighters.

The pencil brush of my dreams

I've been looking for a natural hair pencil brush soft enough to use under my bottom eyelashes (a surprisingly sensitive area, apparently) for a long time. I've had Wayne Goss brushes and Hakuhodo brushes, but this is the one that is truly soft enough to use on sensitive areas. No scratchiness AT ALL- plus it's the perfect petite size to fit under my lashes. I really, really like this one.

Beautiful brush, but the shape isn't for me

This is a beautiful, wonderfully made brush, but I find that the shape isn't really for me. I never reach for it- in fact, I've only used it a few times. The pointiness of the bristles makes it something that doesn't appeal to me with my flatter eyelids. For someone with a deep set eye this would probably be brilliant.

amazing

This brush just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's the brush I needed and didn't know I needed. I love it. It's so good for packing on color in small areas.
