This formula from 1897 is carefully recreated to combine great effectiveness with historical accuracy. This is Victorian-era mineral makeup - a loose powder with a light and delicious scent!

'Phantom' and 'Invisible' were common names for translucent powders during the late 19th Century, and while this powder is visibly white in the container, we have tested it successfully on a wide range of customers. Wear it lightly, to reduce shine and set makeup, or layer it on for a paler look.

Not very good.

I got bored one day and decided to create an authentic (or close to authentic) Victorian makeup look (because I am a huge nerd). I know that PBLC's Phantom Powder formula is very close to an old formula and I had a sample size on hand so I used it. I hated it. It's invisible and the description claims you can use it as a foundation, but not so. It does not blur imperfections, and the only way I suppose it could cover flaws is if you cake it on and look like a phantom yourself. However it makes an excellent setting powder, I like it to seal concealer. So, foundation? No. Setting powder? Yes.
