My HG setting powder

Although I heard moxed reviews on this product, I decided to buy it. As soon as I put it on, I could feel a difference from the Laura Mercier one I had been using. It was so finely milled, the only verb I can use to describe to feeling on the skin is "refreshing." I have super oily skin, so I don't really worry about the whiteness of it (oil activates the invisibility of translucent powders), and it kept me matte with only one blotting session in the late afternoon! As for the sparkle, it was barely noticeable on my skin, if at all, and it just made me look marvelous. Would reccommend.

do not like

honestly the lady at sephora told me about this and i bought it, used it with hourglass foundation and this stuff is worthless... cornstarch works way better and its only 1.00 !! so go figure

nothing special

i really like this product but its nothing special or much different than makeup forever's hd powder or even my favorite drug store translucent powder. its a great product but not all up to the hype this product gets! :]

Please try this product first before you buy!

I have been a commercial model and now work as a makeup artist and stylist in my husband's photographic studio. For about five years I have been making my own studio setting powder using Jurlique silk dust blended with a small amount of powder bronzer. It mattifies, reflect lights and warms the skin tone. I have been using this powder on set and location, in hot hot weather and cold, it sets makeup - all day.

I read rave reviews on the Nars powder, how it used some advance form of technology, provides a soft focus etc so I decided to try it. I went to Selfridges today and looked at the product. It was scent free (plus) and very white (minus), finely milled (plus), with small sparkle pigments (big big minus). The counter makeup consultant applied the product on me, only the smallest amount and my skin looked visibly paler, not at all warmer like my own home made little gem. I wore it on my skin all day, it kept me matte, smooth and the initial paleness faded a little, but the so called 'diffuse pigments', seemed just a fancy name for 'sparkle' pigments, and they were a bit too obvious on my skin.

I am really glad I tried this before purchasing, otherwise I would have been hugely disappointed if I bought the product online and realised it does not compare to my existing range.

Very sorry Nars, but I won't spend £25 pounds on this product.

If you don't have this yet- then you're missing out!!!

This setting powder is amazing! Makes any chalky, flat, lifeless foundation instantly look smooth, soft-like, and radiant without clumps of glitter on your face like most setters. I received soo many compliments after putting this on top of my MUFE HD foundation. The powder gives a pore-less, smooth look and feel to the skin with a nice glow- but you remain matte throughout the day! For me, it gave a soft golden glow to my more neutral skintone and remained matte for up to 3 1/2 hours during a shift at work. I recommend it to anyone, from mua to teens- its defiantly a great buy!
