Healed my dry and flakey skin even better than slugging

The dry winter and constant indoor heating have not been kind to my skin. I have tried double moisturizing, barrier creams and slugging and somehow still wake up with dry patches. I've also been using tretinoin for years, and the drying side effect has never gone away. I was looking for the thickest, most occlusive cream I could get my hands on. Since I've even tried slugging, I don't mind that this contains petrolatum since it is the gold standard of occlusive ingredients to seal hydration/moisture into the skin and prevent transepidermal water loss. I was looking for something that was as occlusive as petrolatum but more healing and cosmetically elegant. This was really the perfect solution, except for the price, of course. The product initially has a waxy/creamy consistency, but when you warm it up between your fingers, it transforms into a creamy, slightly oily texture that just melts onto the skin and spreads easily. The magical part is I can feel it sink into the skin but not evaporate/disappear, leaving behind a thin veil of protection that doesn't feel suffocating. I have tried many barrier balms that are half as effective that feel way more uncomfortable on the skin. Most importantly, I wake up with skin that still feels hydrated and moisturized. Amazingly, La Mer has been able to create such an occlusive formula that can still penetrate the skin but remain protective. I don't love the price, but after trying it out for myself, I get it.

YAAAAS GURRRL! Must have!

I ordered this for my sister for her bday. She has EXTREMELY dry skin, where I have combination skin and use the La Mer softening cream. This has been a life saver to her. It soaks in quickly and doesn't leave her face feeling greasy. Her wrinkles are disappearing...When it's empty I'm buying her a jumbo size one. Will rebuy rebuy rebuy!

Omg noooo

Miracle broth with bad ingredients. Why mineral oil? Petroleum? What a waste of my money. I even tried the La mer essence. Still a no. I think this is more suited if you are not prone to clogged pores. Maybe for older older women. Hype for no reason. Their foundation is good but the skin care lines. I can find something good cheaper. Like my Tatcha or Drunk Elephant.

Fixed my acne prone discolorations in 2 weeks!!

I heard about this cream because my friend said she started using it & it fixed her hormonal skin. Before spending the money on it I read reviews & people mentioning that it fixed their acne & that they stopped breaking out because of it. I got some samples of it & started using it on vacation. My cheeks were broken out for a few month with pretty bad whiteheads & I had gotten a bit of scarring. I noticed a big difference after using this after 2 weeks! It cleared up the acne & it healed up the dark scars. I was in disbelief!!! Because of the price of this I tended to stray & use cheaper products. If my face started breaking out I'd turn back to this. It is a great moisturizer for dry winter months. For the summer the gel cream or lotion would be better. I currently use the La Mer lotion because it is slightly cheaper altho it's not as concentrated. It still moisturizes very well tho. My acne has never gotten as bad as it was before I started using La Mer.

Not For Wrinkles Ladies!

I go through a lot of research and ingredients for skincare and recently I found out this product does nothing for wrinkles. I'm relieved because I don't have wrinkles, but then again if you're looking for a wrinkle fighting creme, this isn't it. It super super moisturizing. It makes my skin feel so amazingly soft and hydrated the morning after when I wake up. Dry, tight skin is supple and flakiness is pretty much gone wherever any breakouts are healing (benzyl peroxide and salicylic acid makes skin peel). Whenever I can splurge during the winter, this is the skincare product I will splurge on. The smell and the feel of this product is wonderful but I don't recommend it for the summer months if you live in a humid climate.

Worth the splurge for sure if your looking for a rich, hydrating night moisturizer, NOT to get rid of wrinkles.

nothing else compares

the history of le mer is what makes it so fascinating. this creme was designed to heal, restore, repair, and rejuvenate skin. worth every penny! and remember, your makeup will only look as good as the face it is on. makeup starts with skincare!

If you have the $$ Go For It!!!

I once owned a medical spa so when I say I've used it all.... I really have used it all! Because my skin has become so used to the "higher" quality products.. just any ol' drugstore product wont do!! I have tried though:) But for over a year I struggled with this crinkly mess right around the dark circles under my eyes and I was SO desperate I bit the bullet and bought a little sample from one of the girls at Saks (sshhhh).. Well I'm SO glad I did!! Within days it smoothed and was plump and back to life! I use the La Mer Gel on my skin all over when I fly and when I go up north to drier climates. I can't use it everyday or I will break out. The Creme is definately best for under my eyes personally but it sure feels great all over! Especially my neck, I'm almost 40.. I kinda need it:)

Excellent Cream. Except for....

The FIRST ingredient is petroleum! The cheapest, most polluting, "filler" ingredient available! Why? That's the reason that you have to "warm" it between your hands, to melt the waxy petrol. I do use it, though, it is a deeply healing cream. I had a deep scar that people don't even see anymore. When the weather is dry and my skin is dry, sensitive, and irritable, this stuff is fantastic. It's very expensive, so I usually split it with a friend. It lasts forever, stays fresh forever, and you don't need it every day or all over your face & neck. You can use it as a spot treatment. I would love to try the serum and see if it's as effective as the original cream. It doesn't have the petroleum.

I just applied the creme on my skin and I love how you have to first warm up the crème between your hands to release the active ingredients. Just makes the LA MER experience more exciting.. I like the consistency and texture of the crème, its quite thick, my skin feels very moisturized. I have very sensitive skin, and usually most products sting for a few minutes after application. However this product feels very soothing and cooling . It’s pricey, but I think a 30ml tub( I purchased this tub) would last 2 months or more. So a little definitely goes a long way.

I love La Mer moisturizing cream. I have only used the sample sizes and my skin changed within a week. It was so dry ( almost alligator) and went from dry to smoothy and silky in a week. I just hate how expensive it is because i can't afford it :(
