Taking stars for others? What?

As tome trucks on I see ridiculous reasons for peoples review stars. I just read one where the person gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 because SHE claims to be a makeup artist and doesn’t think other people will be able to use this product effectively? Ok...even more idiotic was 4 people found her self righteous judgement helpful! What is the world coming to? This product is phenomenal! The company from where it comes is phenomenal. Let me also mention what an innovative product. You do NOT need special training to put mascara on. New things take time to learn. I encourage people questioning rather or not to get this product go for it! Don’t let a complete stranger claiming to be anything hold you back from what makeup is all about. Have faith in your abilities and have faith in companies that have stood the test of time! (Ie hourglass) In the future I encourage anyone reading this reviews to actually think about what they are reading. People make comments about a lot of irrelevant bs. Don’t take it too seriously. There will always be incompetent people, people who don’t read descriptions prior to purchasing as well as people just blabbing to seem more important or worthy of opinion. Do you, have fun and be someone who experiments and tries new things. You’ll be happier for it. Lastly, stop basing stars and opinions on anything other than YOUR experience. Taking stars away for something you think a complete stranger might encounter is one of the most idiotic things Ive heard all month. Speak for yourself. That’s all you were asked to do! They’re exactly 0 saviors needed in makeup.

Here’s the deal

This tool is amazing “If” you use it properly and on someone else. When applying mascara to yourself.... it’s fine for me but if your not a makeup artist I doubt you’d like this (why I gave it 4 stars rather than 5). Applying on a customer = most beautiful lashes and application .

Sadly a huge miss for me.

I got the curator lash instrument plus the primer and mascara to use with the lash instrument. I tried the combination multiple times, and with other mascara but using the instrument. The primer is nothing new or revolutionary. Its primer. Not even a great primer, just primer. The mascara for me was awful. I tried it with the instrument, with a regular lash wand, and even just wiped some on my arm to try and figure out the consistency. It is clumpy yet runny, and the least liked mascara I have ever used (including .99 wet and wild from clearance bin). It did nothing for my lashes. No curl, no length, well... I guess if you count making them looking like fat spider legs that are clumpy maybe it did something? Returned all three items.

Best mascara and primer I have ever used!

I got the curator lash instrument plus the Hourglass curator primer and mascara and you have to use with the lash instrument. I have poker stick, straight, sparse, asian lashes that do NOT hold a curl. After curling my lashes, I applied the primer with the last instrument and then wiped the primer off of the lash instrument using a damp microfiber towel, and then wiping on a dry microfiber towel to get rid of moisture before dipping the instrument into the mascara. The results were YOWZA! I had lashes and it held all day...like 18 hours all day. It never smudged or flaked. The lashes stayed curled and never dropped. It is amazing. To remove the mascara and primer, I had to use waterproof makeup remover and cleanser. It took several cleanings before I could remove all of it.

So I have all these other mascaras and primers and I had to try the lash instrument with them just so I can satisfy my curiosity. First off, the lash instrument is designed so it is almost too big to go into the opening of other mascaras and primers but I did manage to get other brands of primer and mascara coated on the instrument. I also think other primers and mascaras are a bit too thick to use with the lash instrument. I think the Hourglass curator primer and mascara are thinner in consistency than regular primers and mascaras to coat the instrument better. So that being said, the lash instrument was able to deposit other brands of primer and mascara on my lashes with satisfactory results (was able to tightline and get every lash that I can't do with a standard mascara brush) but I did not get the YOWZA results I got when I used the Hourglass curator primer and mascara with the lash instrument.

I would definitely purchase the Hourglass primer and mascara again! The lash instrument will last me for the rest of my life I think!

Verified Purchase

I didn't purchase The hourglass mascara or primer. I use lancome primer and Giorgio Armani mascara. I brush the wands from the applicators over the curator by swiping up and down. I make sure there are no lumps on the curator before using it. The fanning out and separation of the lashes is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately I have to follow up by using the Armani mascara. I have short stubby lashes. But I have never had such good results using just regular mascara brushes. I'm very glad I have this tool.
