Oh My, Terry

I’ve had my eye on this since it dropped. I’m glad I went for it, because this palette is stunning! I was worried about the rose/berry shade, but it is a revelation, and I love it. I worried a few of the darker shades would be too dark, but they are very easy to blend, and I can go in with a super light hand or really go for it. In short, I think this palette can work for everyone, and it is beautiful.

Colors are very similar on medium-tan skin

For full disclosure, I bought this off of the By Terry website when it was out of stock on Beautylish.

I'm very sad that I didn't have the same experience as some of the other reviewers, because all things being said this is a very beautiful pallete. The packaging, the embossing, and the color scheme are lovely. I'm not sure if I got a defective one but I don't see anything close to what others are saying about the pigment, the colors barely pick up on my Sonia G. brushes (I have to really struggle to pack them on), the copper shade had hard pan after only 2 uses, and even with my Hourglass primer they go on very streaky and somehow make my eyes look aged.

Additionally, the colors themselves are not as distinct as I thought, at least on my skintone. Many of the taupe-brown shimmer shades look identical to the pink shade (it's a weird, pinky-brown iridescent look) and overall end up with no differentiation between the two. It cuts out a significant level of versatility in the palette. I'm surprised at the sameness of the colors on the eye, and while the palette is very uniform I was hoping for a lot more in terms of pigment and differentiation.

So I sadly cannot recommend, though I think that it might be better for those with a lighter skin tone as the colors might have more variation (though the hard pan issue might just be the formula in my opinion). I would definitely recommend ND Biba/Glam/Bronze or ABH Soft Glam if you're looking for similar neutral tones, because this palette just isn't satisfactory.

It's so beautiful!

This is a GORGEOUS palette (and the beautiful little Paris stamps make it almost a shame to use!), and I'm already in love. It's a very small palette, which makes it perfect for travel, but each pan is surprisingly pretty big. The colors are perfect neutrals, all very versatile for both cool and warm looks if you like, without being overly shimmery. I'm 57, so too much shimmer is something I need to be cautious about, but this isn't so shimmery that it accentuates any lines. And it's vegan, which is very important to me. Pretty much the only downsides are the price, but I have to say, it's totally worth it, and that pointless little brush they include, which I just tossed away. Beyond that, you will love it!

I’m huge By Terry fan. I just received this palette. This is my second palette from this company. Beautiful formula. I also have the loose powder as well. So worth the price tag. Would suggest to splurge if your looking for a great loose powder or beautiful eyeshadow palette...Judy D from NY State

The BY TERRY brand isn't a loud, "shout it from the rooftops" type of brand. But it is a stealth sleeper HIT! Terry de Gunzburg is the artist behind the brand BY TERRY, which she launched after collaborating with Yves Saint Laurent for 15 years. Her makeup line is chic & understated, but in my opinion, her SKINCARE line deserves 5 stars!! The Rose Lip de Baum has a cult following for its healing & beautifying properties. The V.I.P. palette is a easy, everyday go-to palette. The Pinks, Burgundy & chocolate browns are beautiful. I've used the matte chocolate brown to fill in my brow's sparse areas & it works great! This is my 2nd BY TERRY palette and I can say, it is a Go-To palette. Recommend!

This is a Must-Have Palette!

This is a luxe palette, a must-have palette for evening, a palette you’ll find yourself reaching for over and over again! The gold packaging is sleek, slick, seductive. There are ten large shadows, each precisely and beautifully etched with the brand name or a scene reflecting the beauty of the “City of Lights.” The compact also houses a large, truly usable mirror and a dual-ended applicator brush. And the colors—oh, the colors! This palette offers an excellent, intriguing, complex meld of matte and shimmer shadows, in both gentle and bold hues. The powder has a unique “creamy” texture; it adheres to the brush and wears a very long time on lid. Application is nearly seamless. Some women may avoid glimmer shadows, but the particles in these are so miniscule that you’ll never look garish, just alluring. Shades include a delicate cream, a ubiquitous taupe/grey mix, deep chocolate brown, burnished gold, warm berry, and matte charcoal. The looks you can create are endless—for a palette of this high quality, the price is most reasonable. I am smitten!

Whoa! I love being able to transport this palette with ease! The colors are vivid - easy to apply with staying power!! Typically palette can be Overwhelming where maybe you use 4 colors from a 12 plus color selection and the rest .. neva used. NOT this palette. You will integrate each pot into your routine.

WHOA

This palette is all you need. We all have seen decent palettes- Urban Decay, MAC, Bobby Brown- and there is the balance of price versus quality. This palette is affordable and quality is stellar. This is the one palette where I will use each color array!

Best purchase!!!

Great Colors but matte shadows are a little powdery

This palette has cool toned pink shadows suitable for elegant mature look (in my opinion). Unlike many pink palettes, the colors are soft and glamourous. Not too loud, not too warm.

The shimmer colors are creamy and have good pigmentation. I feel that the matte colors are slightly powdery and have some fallout so make sure to tap out excess powder on your brush before apply onto your eyelid.

The reason I gave this four stars is because two of the color pans fell out from the palette in my first use. Apparently they had too little glue to hold the pans secure. I used superglue and problem solved, but it was a little disappointing. (Michele Wang had the same experience in her YouTube video using this palette.)

I like that the palette is compact and has 10! colors, ranging from light to dark, mix of matte and shimmer. Overall, I like this palette and would recommend it to my friends.

Quality Great Pigment

I have known about By Terry products for years. When I spied this I decided to try the Brand.

When I opened it I was in Shock with Bliss. The Colors are Beautiful. Then I thought let me test this to see if the usage matches the Look. Wow is all I can say. This is the Quality of Pat McGrath but at about half the price. The colors are highly pigmented and glide on seamlessly. I had no Fall Out.

I am the color of a Pecan Shell and often in store try eyeshadows on the back of my hand to see if they show up. So if you are my Tone this Palette will serve you well. I only used a dab of a concealer that matches my skin to knock out the dark circles.

As far as the Service of Beautylish a Gold Star. I received my order 2 days after placing the order after 12 PM on a Weekday. Now I am a Fan of this Site.
