About Me

As my grandfather used to say, we're "mutts" or "Heinz 57". =P I have Romanian, Greek, British (English, Scottish, Irish and Welsh), French, Belgian, German and possibly some sort of Native American flowing through me. Definitely makes for an interesting family.

Some of the fondest memories I have as a child are of spending time watching my mother either cook or putting makeup on for work or parties... getting "tips" from her. Now she comes to me for ideas and newer tricks. Funny how that works. Growing up with a younger brother, he'd often let me experiment on him with our mother's makeup... purely to get laughs out of her when she'd come home, of course! ;-) But I'd rarely use makeup on myself... eyeliner was pretty much it for me.

Later, as I got more involved in visual arts my interest in makeup grew as well. It became another medium to play with. My interests were more with editorial makeup and special effects. My original intent was to help my husband with his movie making, but it grew from there. On myself, when I do wear makeup, 'wearable' does not always equal "natural'. I enjoy smoky looks, colorful looks... anything that really shows personality.

You'll find I have several 'nicknames' that people call me: Mikki, Mica, Libra, Onyx. Feel free to use any of them here.
