About Me

You measure yourself by the people who measure themselves by you...

There is entirely too much to tell...

I am a proud Mom, a loving friend and a loyal, hard-ass working member of corporate America. I live on an island, on the coast of Massachusetts but I was born and raised in Southern California. Needless to say, I am ALWAYS freezing! I seek peace and solace by walking four blocks to the shore, sitting down and gazing at the ocean...

I ran a Spartan race over the summer of 2012 and although I did not finish and it kicked my ass, I feel it was a huge accomplishment as I have a major back injury and will be gong under the knife in a few weeks for a '3 level 360' (an anterior posterior 3 level fusion) after suffering with it for 12 years.

I have also lost 70 pounds in the last 7 months and am still losing. I had a health scare a year and a half ago that sent me on a journey of a new and healthier 'me'. I stopped drinking 'soda', stopped eating anything with high fructose corn syrup and just generally started taking much better care of myself. With that came an overall self-esteem boost. I never didn't love me or take care of me but I absolutely needed to love me more. Having a mild stroke at 41 will do that to you. I love make-up, fashion and anything that sparkles (yup, I am one of 'those' girls) and you will never, ever see me not 'put together' unless you catch me just waking up and even then my pajamas match!

I believe that there is more to life than just being here and then dying. We all go through things in our lives for a reason. I am not sure what those reasons are most of the time but I know our lives are not as simple as just living and dying. I have been through more than I care to share with most. I have done a lot of things that I am not proud of but I have learned a lot of very important things: Trust, responsibility, taking the weight for my choices and feelings, and spending the rest of my life living up to them. And above all, not hurting the objects of my love. I also learned that my father is and deserves to be the most important man in my life. He is a hero and a gentleman in every single sense of the word. I also learned that just because someone is "family" that doesn't give them carte blanche to hurt you or to be in your life. You are allowed to say 'no' and to walk away if it hurts too much and if its not healthy...and I have done that on several occasions with 'important' people in my life. It was painful and difficult but necessary for me to be happy and healthy in my own life.

Well, it said "About Me" so I felt free to be candid...if you have read this far, KUDOS to you!! I would LOVE to know what held your interest so long!
