Thank you Lauren! Of course, if you want to you can use a regular topcoat...it just wont last as long. I did this on someone earlier today with a regular topcoat so I can see how long it lasts and let you know. Maybe something like Seche Vite or Lumos would be better as they're kinda gelish in consistency. Hope you try it out :D

I've recently decided to stop getting acrylics and i've begun doing my own nails. Are Gel nails safe for the health of your nails, bc after yrs of acrylic my nails are shot!

Hi Missez! These aren't gel nails, these are actually my natural nails with a gel polish over the top (well glitter set into a gel polish). It's just like painting your nails and doesn't cause any damage as long as it's applied and removed properly. If you go for Shellac there's no buffing of the nail or anything, it just paints straight on like polish. It would probably be really good for your post acrylic nails as it will give them a bit of strength while they grow. It's exactly what I did after I stopped wearing acrylics. The polish is also quite porous so you could still use a cuticle oil (non mineral) as this will absorb through the polish and into your nail to help condition them even whilst you've got the polish on. Thanks Tatyana, of course I can! You need to carry out ur prep and base coat as per normal, then apply one coat of a neutral colour (I think I used negligee). Before you cure your first coat of colour sprinkle an even layer of glitter (irredescent is best, it shows up better) over the top and pat down very gently. Cure for the usual time. After you've cured gently brush away excess glitter and apply two layers of top coat, curing for the usual time between each. Hope this helps :D
