Beauty Product Reviews

I'm obsessed with this color!

I've always wanted to try one of Deborah Lippmann's glitter polishes, but I didn't know which one to try first. When I saw Mermaid's Dream, I knew it was "the one". The color itself is completely stunning and unique. It is literally like Deborah Lippmann bottled up an actual mermaid. It's a beautiful seafoam green base with a golden fine shimmer to it, with small blue glitter running throughout it. The base is best described as being an iridescent seafoam green actually. It is also extremely opaque. Don't even think about layering this on top of another polish. I would say it is opaque in one coat, but I always apply two coats for kicks and giggles. The official "description" is "a glittered shimmer sea foam splendor". The polish texture is a little gritty, but a few coats of top coat will take care of that issue.

To break it down further, it costs $18 for .50 oz. of product. For reference, a MAC nail lacquer is $16 for .34 oz. of product, butter London's nail polishes are $14 for .4 oz. of product, and Zoya's nail polishes are $8 for .50 oz. of product. So yes, one could say that Deborah Lippmann is a bit overpriced (compared to Zoya), but it is right on point with other high-end nail polishes. In fact, Deborah Lippmann nail polishes are a steal compared to other high end nail polishes, as you get more product for $18. I've already gotten a bunch of compliments with this polish on my nails, and I know I'm going to wear this constantly during summer. I highly recommend it!

Super moisturizing and glitter packed!

I saw these at Ulta a few months ago and I was intrigued! I swatched them, and couldn't believe how gorgeous and glittery these lip glosses were, so I knew I had to have them. These aren't overly sticky glosses, but the amount of glitter it packs is just amazing. I like to use these in the center of my lips to add insane dimension to my lips. These lip glosses contain Jojoba Oil & Vitamin E to condition & moisturize your lips (which they definitely do!) Normally with glitter-packed lip glosses, you get the grittiness of the glitter left behind, but this is not the case with the Stardust lip glosses. And I absolutely love the minty flavor of these glosses as well.

The packaging is really great and unique. I love how the applicator is an actual brush, and not a doe-foot applicator. You don't need a lot of product to get a nice punch, either. These lip glosses are $19 for .18 oz of product. For reference, MAC Cremesheen Lipglasses are $18.50 for .09 oz. I think the lip glosses that are most similar the the Urban Decay ones are the MAC Lustreglasses, where for $14.50, you get .17 oz of product. Honestly, I prefer the Urban Decay lip gloss over the Lustreglass.

Overall, these are really fantastic lip glosses that you should give a look next time you're at Ulta. I don't believe these are sold at Sephora, but you can get these at either Urbandecay.com, or Ulta. The swatches I included are of Andromeda (left) and Glitter Rock (right). Definitely try these out!

The perfect contour

I cannot even begin to name all the bronzing products I have tried over the years, but my Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder always seems to come out on top. I have been using this product for about 4 years, and I absolutely love it! You have to be careful not to use too much, because a little bit of it goes a long way. I would hardly use this as a bronzer, instead I would definitely use this as a contour. I feel as if it really exaggerates the shadows in my face and makes my features look REALLY defined. There isn't really any trace of an orange undertone in the bronzer either, which makes me like it that much more.

This bronzer is definitely on the pricey side- $35- but I think it is well worth the price. It is completely matte and is the perfect contour for me, and there is no hint of orange in it! There is .28 oz of product in it (which is the same as the popular NARS Bronzing Powder), but for $2 more than the NARS bronzer, you are getting complete and utter quality for a bronzer. If you have extra money and are willing to splurge on a bronzer, splurge on this one!

Absolutely amazing for bacne

For the first time in my life, I started getting really horrendous acne on my back about two months ago. Thinking it would go away on its own, I didn't do anything about it, until it started become painful. After doing my research online, I was referred to try out this product. Now let me just tell you, six weeks better, and my disgusting bacne is practically gone!

I use this product twice a day on my upper back. I probably use a loofah to apply it about 3-4 times a week because I don't want to irritate my back. Even my dermatologist recommended this product. You have to use this product consistently though, which I have been (like I mentioned before, I have been using this for 6 weeks consistently and have certainly seen the results!) This body wash isn't too rough on the skin, and smells super fresh and clean.

If you have issues with body acne, DEFINITELY check this product out. It is absolutely superb and you will see results and be happy with it!

A fantastic tinted moisturizer for the summer

I just recently ordered this tinted moisturizer because I have yet to find a good tinted moisturizer with enough coverage for me that doesn't feel to heavy. Well, I think I may just discovered my holy grail tinted moisturizer. I do have very acne-prone skin, and am really oily in my t-zone, and this tinted moisturizer works fabulously on my skin! Granted, it doesn't cover ALL of my acne, but considering that it is a light coverage foundation, it does amazing! The best part is that the coverage is also buildable, and this product is 100% vegan and cruelty-free!

Price-wise, it may seem a little steep ($25 for 1 fl.oz. of product), but compared to my all-time favorite foundation, the Makeup Forever Mat Velvet + Foundation, which is $34 for 1.01 fl. oz. of product, it is a whole lot easier on my wallet. I think the price range for this tinted moisturizer is just about on par with other high quality foundations (which this tinted moisturizer definitely is!). So overall, I HIGHLY recommend this tinted moisturizer, and I will be purchasing this for my kit! I love it! And a little goes a long way!

Most moisturizing product EVER

I know that this lip balm is meant to be for men, but honestly... This product is amazing for both males and females. This lip balm is really long lasting and SUPER moisturizing, especially if your lips are as dry as mine. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is in the market for a really awesome lip balm. I also notice I don't have to exfoliate my lips as often as I used to before I came across this lip balm. Although slightly more expensive than most lip balms and not as easily accessible (you can get it at Sephora and in some ULTA stores), it is SO worth it. I know I'll be stocking up on this product! And another plus: it has SPF! Perfect for the summer!

AMAZING lipstick!

This lipstick has definitely become my new favorite lipstick. I purchased this lipstick in Coral the other day, and I'm pretty sure that I've been wearing that color every single day. This lipstick is SO highly pigmented, and it lasts for such a long time on my lips! I also find that it doesn't leave my lips dry at all. I have always been faithful to MAC lipsticks, but I must say that these Revlon lipsticks are my new favorites. And the price is really awesome as well! I believe it is only 8 or 9 dollars, which definitely beats the $14 price tag that goes along with MAC lipsticks. I will definitely be purchasing way more of these!

Nice blush for an even nicer price.

I've heard so much about the ELF studio blushes, so I went down to my local Target and bought it in Pink Passion. To be quite honest, I was pleasantly surprised! When it comes to drugstore brand products, I'm always extremely skeptical. This blush is fairly decent. The thing I don't like about it is that it is really powdery. When I use my blush brush to pick the product up, it kicks up a lot of powder. So that is one thing that I'm not quite a fan of. The next issue I have with it is that it doesn't last long on my face. When I first apply it, it looks beautiful. But a couple of hours later, it has faded into nothingness. But for the price, I think this is a steal, and I don't really mind touching up the blush every so often!

Cool concept, but not worth the money in my opinion

I really like the concept of the NARS Illuminators, but honestly, I don't think it's worth the money! I received a deluxe-size sample of it in Super Orgasm in one of my Birchboxes, and I just wasn't wow'ed by it. For a night out, I normally apply this over my decollete area and over my arms... Basically any skin that isn't covered by clothing. Then I apply it to the tops of my cheekbones for an added pop. However, it came off as looking greasy on my face, but I think maybe it was because I have combination skin, leaning towards the more oily side. I think this would be a great product if you have normal skin, but for combination skin... Not so much. It looks alright on the rest of my skin as well, but like I mentioned before.. I wouldn't go out and spend $29 on the full-size product.

The best blush I've ever come across

Like many others, I was very skeptical about this blush. I checked it out at Ulta, and was a bit scared off from the price! So I'm not going to lie... I didn't buy it. But then I went back and just went for it. I'm always on the hunt for the perfect matte blush. I love my NARS blushes, but sometimes I don't want all of the additional shimmer. I find it really hard to find decent quality matte blushes nowadays. Well look no further, I finally found my all time favorite matte blush! I bought the shade "blissful", and this is a daily staple in my makeup routine. This blush does not go away! It is amazing. I highly recommend this product! I say go for the splurge-$25-and you will not be disappointed! Plus, this blush will probably last you a REALLY long time. Did I mention the packaging is awesome? I love that it comes with a built-in mirror! Extra points for that!
