Luxe Keyaki Handles

with Tonoko Polish

Wavy handles are well-balanced, easy to hold, and made using Keyaki Zelkova Serrata—a luxurious native wood from Japan. Traditional tonoko polishing powder was used to fill, smooth, and strengthen the wood.

Handles may differ in hue and grain, depending on the wood piece, adding to its unique beauty.

Saikoho Goat Bristles

with Kakishibu Dye

The saikoho goat bristles are dyed with kakishibu—persimmon tannin dye—by hand by one master artisan over a period of several days. Dating back to the 13th century, this dying technique is regarded as a precious traditional craft and has received national awards.

The dyeing process also adds more grip to the bristles, making them more durable and allowing them to also be used with cream and liquid products.
