When it comes to awards season, watching celebrities take the red carpet in their best beauty looks is almost more fun than the show itself. Despite the new, no-host format that had everyone buzzing, the 91st annual Academy Awards proved to be no different. Here, the best beauty looks of the 2019 Oscars, from Emilia Clarke’s sleek bob and soft pink makeup to Amandla Stenberg’s glowing skin and gorgeous braids.

Amandla Stenberg

Amandla Stenberg stunned in a glowy, dewy look courtesy of makeup artist Kali Kennedy and Pat McGrath Labs. We’re swooning over the contrast of their sharp winged liner next to the soft, swooping curves of their braided updo.

The cast of  Crazy Rich Asians  really brought their beauty A-game to the Oscars red carpet this year. Case in point: Constance Wu with her glowing skin, slicked-back updo, and deep red lip.

Emilia Clarke

To avoid upstaging the  Game of Thrones  star’s new brunette bob and dazzling Balmain gown, makeup artist Jillian Dempsey kept it fresh with the prettiest pink blush and lip.

For Danai Gurira’s golden goddess look, makeup artist Tym Buacharern focused on enhancing the  Black Panther  star’s bronzed, glowing skin—and we’re definitely here for it.

Ashley Graham

Model Ashley Graham proves that classic doesn’t equal boring. Makeup artist Kate Synnott’s smokey cat eye, contoured cheeks, and soft nude lip give us old-school Hollywood vibes in the best way possible.

The  Crazy Rich Asians  star’s Valentino gown wasn’t the only thing that caught our eyes on the red carpet. Crisp winged liner with a glimmer of emerald green to match her Bulgari jewels were the perfect finishing touch to her jaw-dropping ensemble.

Lady Gaga

Makeup artist Sarah Tanno kept Gaga’s makeup soft, fresh, and barely-there, explaining that she “didn’t want anything to distract from this special moment.” Using Marc Jacobs Beauty, Tanno contoured her eyes and added a pop of pale grey eyeliner, then finished off the look with a natural rose lip.

Billy Porter’s Christian Siriano couture gown may have stolen the internet’s hearts, but we nominate his skin for Best Supporting Actor. Groomer Anna Bernabe used a beautyblender and Kosas Tinted Face Oil to enhance his smooth, even complexion.
