Attention Grabbers for Video Tutorials

75

The internet is a fast-paced place and anyone looking at articles, reviews, and videos can lose interest fairly quickly. This is why you need to make sure to do a couple of things to get people to keep watching your videos from start to finish.

HOW TO Keep Them Watching

  1. Keep Intros Short.  When filming a video tutorial, your intro should only be enough to say what it is. If you ramble for 40 seconds before you even start applying makeup, chances are your viewer has already closed the screen.

  2. Be peppy. Have some spunk when on camera. No one wants to watch a Debbie Downer put makeup on!

  3. Speak Clearly. If you talk very softly, too loudly, slowly and/or too fast, that's quickest way for people not to watch you. Enunciate your words but don't drag them out too long.

  4. Stay on Subject. If you lose your track and go on a tangent about a completely unrelated topic from the video you'll also lose your viewer's interest. Keep a checklist so you can stay on subject and keep the viewer engaged.

Beautylish Tip: If you use music in your intro, try not to pick loud and cheesy songs because they will set the wrong tone for your tutorial and distract from your information.
