NEW YORK FASHION WEEK S/S 2012

Downtown eye candy marks the theme of Richard Chai Love this spring 2012 season. Richard infused zippy, hyperactive shades of violet, mint, and coral into his floral and mesh motifs—created for both women and men. It's '90s hipster meets Candyland.

HAIR

“The look very much reflects Richard’s inspiration for his collection with a loose, light and disheveled look on top and then straight and smooth on the bottom." says Avon Global Stylist Tippi Shorter, who was backstage with the Avon team. "Hair is lived in—it's 'day two' hair."

  1. Prep hair by using Avon Advance Techniques 3D Rescue Leave-in Treatment.

  2. Apply Avon Advance Techniques Volumizing Spray Gel around the front, sides and top of dry hair. Spray close to the roots and on the top, but avoid the bottom of the hair. Scrunch the hair to create a lived-in texture.

  3. Create a deep side part and continue to dry and scrunch hair, sweeping across the forehead.

  4. Spray Avon Advance Techniques Medium Hold Hair Spray into your hand and collect the hair in a chunky, loose, low ponytail. Allow the deep side of the part to fall across the forehead and sweep behind the ears. Secure it at the nape with an elastic.  Put more Medium Hold Hair Spray on the finger tips and gently scrunch and tease the ponytail.

  5. Take Avon Advance Techniques Daily Shine Smooth and Shine Capsules into your hand and run it through the length of the ponytail to smooth it down, but keep hair scrunched on top. Straighten the ponytail with a flat iron to contrast the teased, messy top.
