NYFW Spring 2011: Backstage with Napoleon Perdis at Elise Overland

Beautylish went backstage at the Spring 2011 Elise Overland Fashion Show during New York Fashion Week. Napoleon Perdis and The Frederic Fekkai team styled perfectly feminine looks for Overland's show. Keep reading for the full beauty breakdown.

Hair was relaxed and glamorous; the Frederic Fekkai team used Full Blown Volume Lifting Spray to give models' locks a balance of body with a natural texture.

Kim from Priti NYC mixed a custom color for the Elise Overland called 'Mushroom Flower', a gorgeous no shimmer pale taupe/rose that's a sure to be a must-have spring nude shade (we even helped name it!).

Napoleon Perdis and his Pro Team were on the scene creating a no-makeup makeup; fresh and healthy.

From Napoleon himself: "Elise Overland likes a kind of strong, feminine, natural presence —which is kind of unusual because natural can be sometimes not as strong, We wanted to emphasize the lashes and eyes, a modern take on the sixties. We kept the skin and lips clean so it wasn't costume-y, it's fresh. Lashes are big now, whether it's falsies or mascara, the lashes are big, the skin is perfect. It's airbrushed with my Boudoir mist spray foundation, on a primer. No powder. The lipstick is a kind of nude with a slight pink edge to it, just to give it a bit of a retro reminiscent glamour. The cheek is just a contour, nothing else. The whole thing was 'let's take the lashes of Twiggy and make the eye more vertical versus horizontal and elongated'. The eye is vertically bigger than the horizontal look of the 60's."
