Day to Night Makeup Transformations

When your life is full of nonstop activity, there simply isn’t enough time to completely reapply your makeup or stop at home for a quick wardrobe change before dashing off to the next event. Which is why the office (or school) bathroom may be the only place you have to transform yourself from daytime-casual to evening showstopper, and the products you use have to be the best ones for the job. We spoke with New York City-based makeup artist Tina Turnbow for her favorite day-to-night products.

1 Rosy cheeks...

“To get a rosy glow, I love 100% Pure Raspberry Fruit Pigmented Blush," says Tina. "It's the prettiest shade of pink with a shimmer that instantly gives your cheeks the look of health and radiance, and you can apply it with your fingertips. Also, to highlight your cheekbones and the inner corners of your eyes, I love Arbonne Sheer Glow Highlighter because it comes in an easy-to-carry tube."

2 A pretty pout...

"A red lip is such an easy way to add nighttime glam," says Tina. "I'm into the richly pigmented and moist Bite Lip Pencils. Pomegranate is a gorgeous red and my favorite. For something more natural, Burt’s Bees Red Dahlia Tinted Lip Balm leaves a sheer wine stain and keeps lips conditioned."

3 Glam Eyes...

"Eye pencils are a great way to add drama at night," says Tina. "You can smudge them for a quick smoky effect and you can build on the liner you applied for the daytime. I like Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in 21L, a shimmery gray.” Another fast way to amp up your look is by giving your lashes extra oomph. “I like the tiny tube of Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara or Maybelline Great Lash Mascara,” says Tina. “They’re easy to tote, and the tiny Clinique brush makes it a snap to add a coat to your top and bottom lashes, and won't smudge or look overdone.”
