Paris Haute Couture: Our Favorite Looks From the Shows

60

Haute Couture is one of our favorite fashion weeks here at Beautylish. Not only do stunning hand-crafted confections strut the runways (it’s the fashion of your dreams!), but the makeup is some of the most inspiring and dramatic of the year.

GIAMBATTISTA VALLI

We couldn’t take our eyes off the models at the Giambattista Valli show, which showcased, crystalline-rimmed eyes with hair nets adorned with—get this—butterflies. Not real of course, but enchanting and spectacular nonetheless.

CHANEL

We spotted some Beautylish-inspired borderline nails at Chanel! Creative Director of Chanel makeup Peter Philips embraced the new nail trend with a discontinued chrome base and a top coat of the melon-lacquered 'May.' We love that the famed brand tried something new, and we’re giving ourselves the credit!

CHRISTIAN DIOR

Behind the fanfare that greeted Raf Simons' (Christian Dior’s new creative director) first show was the simple yet effective makeup palette. Neon lash and lip combinations were a pop-tastic change for the maison, which, under John Galliano’s direction, produced some of the most magical, fantastical makeup looks ever! However, we’re happy to see that colored lashes are here to stay.

ARMANI PRIVÉ

Last, but certainly not least, comes the futuristic metal-gray eyes at Armani Privé. Makeup artist Linda Cantello extended smoky, blue-gray shadow up to the brows and out to the hairline, creating an almost mask-like haze of color across the models’ eyes.
