Hi, guys! Today I'm going to be showing you my updated foundation routine, kind of how to get your skin looking flawless even though it's not. A lot of people say, "Oh, you have great skin. You have great skin." Well, a lot of it's the makeup, the foundation that I use and the different products that I use to kind of like give you a natural appearance that you've got nice skin and that it's not makeup.

A lot of people think that if they use foundation or liquid foundation, especially instead of the powder and stuff that, you know, your skin's going to look really, you know, people will be able to tell, because you can normally look at someone, I can at least, and tell if they're wearing foundation. But a lot of people don't really even think I am, like even in real life and stuff. I think that I've kind of got it down to a way that makes it look very natural.

Also, it's a very quick process. I mean, this really, literally takes less than maybe three minutes because I have timed it before. You know, I do like to get my makeup done in the most efficient way possible day to day. It doesn't take very long. When you're explaining it and stuff, it drags it out, as you know. So, keep watching and I'll show you what I do, step-by-step.

I start with Origins Brighter by Nature Serum, which is a really great primer to me. I don't really use regular makeup primers because, as I've said before, my skin breaks out very easily. The foundation I use is the Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet +. I use shade 40. Sometimes I mix it with a little of shade 30. 35 is too pink and it is even darker than the 40 for some reason. I just use my fingertips. 40 is very yellow. My skin is very pink. So it neutralizes it perfectly, and then it matches my neck and my chest exactly so there is no need to really go down your neck with foundation. I really don't like doing that unless if you've got a lot of discoloration or something. But if you've just got like normal skin or issues or whatever you shouldn't have to take it down there.

For the past year or so, I've just been using my fingertips most of the time. When I was traveling a lot and stuff I don't like to pack a lot of brushes, so I just started doing this and then I found that I liked it even better just doing this. Using your fingertips, you get a more natural coverage too, or a more natural finish I mean. Whatever is left on your fingertips just kind of take up underneath your eyes. Then take literally just a tiny, tiny bit and put it over your eyelids. You can still use an eyelid primer over this or whatever you want to do. You're not adding even enough to really make a difference. I always take just a teeny bit and go around so that you don't' have to use so much concealer. I find a lot of times the foundation is going to look more natural.

I do have combination skin. I get very oily in my T-zone. So a lot of you who have more normal to dry skin might be afraid of this since it says Mat Velvet and it's kind of, it says, a "matifying foundation." It's not going to dry your skin out. It actually has a very nice finish to it. I find that if I don't, my skin is very balanced, I've said before, but I find that if I don't use this a lot, like if I go maybe a week without using it, my skin kind of gets flaky. So, I think my skin kind of gets used to it almost like a moisture. I don't know. It's very strange. But I swear by this and I love it. I have used it on people who have more normal to dry skin, and it looks great on them, too. If you've got like flakes in any capacity, no liquid foundation is going to do you right. Really, that would be the only reason that I wouldn't use this, is if you have like really flaky skin. But that's like a whole other issue in itself.

Then I go ahead and get my blemishes. I use the NC20. This is a Studio Finish by MAC. Again, I use a more yellow tinted product because that's going to neutralize the red. I use this E45 or E15 brush by Sigma, which is supposed to be for eyeliner, but I find it's the best concealer brush ever. You can even use your fingers. I do like using a brush for concealer a lot of the time. If you're just going around your nose and stuff, your finger is fine. But, like, if you have specific blemishes, I find using a brush is more precise. If I ever use my fingers, it just gets too much concealer around the actual issue.

You should look like you don't have any blemishes because this does a very good job of concealing. Then, before I do my under eye concealer, I always do that last, I'll set my foundation. Now I don't feel like I need a lot of powder with this. I use two different shades, which is kind of funny. I use two different shades of the Mineralize Skinfinish by MAC, which is kind of like a pressed, well, it's not pressed, but it's like a baked mineral product. It's in a compact. I use the Light Medium and the Medium Dark, which is kind of funny because there are a lot of shades in between there but those shades are more pink. So what I do is I take the darker shade and a fluffy brush, this is a Sigma F30, and I go on my forehead, around my cheeks like that, like in kind of your hollow area. You shouldn't even be seeing the color a lot. It should just be looking like it's, you know, just setting. I use a little on my nose and a little on my chin. This area right here shouldn't have anything.

Then I go back with the lighter shade and just fill in right there and then a little bit right there. You shouldn't overlap the two colors. Just take the brush after it's clean and just kind of go around everything.

So, I use the darker shade on my forehead, around this area where you contour your cheekbones, a little bit on my chin, a little bit on my nose. Then take the lighter shade and dust it here, here, and maybe just a little bit right there. It sounds kind of complicated but it's really not. It just keeps your skin from looking totally powdered. This stuff is not heavy and won't give you a powdery effect, which I like.

For under eye circles, you want to use a shade that is more pink. If you are using any MAC concealers, that would be like an NW shade. The NC shades are more yellow, which you should use for your actual face for blemishes and stuff. Lately, I'm back to using my Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat, or whatever, and this is the lightest shade, the pink one. I just click it a few times and go right up underneath my, whoa that's a lot, my circles. What you can do is you can look down and just kind of trace it in the areas that look shadowy. Maybe just a little bit on the edges. Blend that in with your fingers.

Then as always, my very favorite product, one of them, of all time, the Benefit Powderflage, comes in a little thing like that. I don't like powders under the eye at all. That's why I set my makeup and everything with these powders before I applied the under eye concealer, because I don't want any of that powder clinging to this under eye area. This powder really acts really nicely under the under eye area. It looks like that. Use it on a fluffy brush. Just apply it right to my under eye area. You don't want to use too much. It kind of sets your concealer and it brightens up your under eye area without settling in your lines and stuff.

I've stuck with a lot of these for a very long time, so I know that they are very good and they work. I swear by all of them. I think I would die if this was ever not made anymore.
