Check out the official GGF Store at http://shop.givegoodface.com - Our model Dakota rocked out our "I'll Cut a Bitch" tee for hairstylists in this video!
Tip 1: I used Smashbox's BB Cream to perfect the skin, applying with fingertips. Look, minerals aren't all bad, they just aren't appropriate for everyone - particularly folks with rough, dry skin. A tinted moisturizer with pressed powder can actually look fantastic on all skin types!
ADDITIONAL TIP: Some television studios (news studios, shopping networks, etc) have a greater amount of light (and heat). In these situations, you can apply foundation more heavily as necessary.
Tip 2: I used Temptu's concealer wheel to lightly hide blemishes and brighten under the eyes - less is more! I used Stila's Double-Ended Foundation Brush to buff excess product. Use a lighter concealer to highlight above the brows, on the cheekbones, and along the bridge of the nose.
Tip 3: Instead of using an oil-absorbing powder, I used a matte bronzer (Smashbox's "Suntan Matte"). Dusted lightly over the skin with a powder brush (by Stilazzi), this finishes the skin naturally and adds warmth to the complexion. To reduce shine just on the nose, I love Urban Decay's "De-Slick in a Tube." Great for all skin types and kills shine in a flash - and it can be applied over makeup!
Tip 4: This is an optional step, but I really do like to tweeze crazy stray brow hairs. Comb clear brow gel through the brows to groom, or you can lightly fill brows that need a little more definition with Smashbox's Brow Tech and a brow brush (by Stilazzi).
ADDITIONAL TIP: Bring disposable razors, small scissors, and an electric trimmer on set with you as well - this way, you can handle even the furriest of male talent!
Tip 5: Only use mascara if necessary. Honestly, I only use it on lighter lashes - dark lashes rarely need the help!
Tip 6: Apply rose salve to the lips and blot for instantly smooth lips. For photoshoots, you can leave a little shine - looks great in photos! Just don't over apply or your client will look like he's wearing gloss.
Tip 7: Use gel liner (Like Smashbox's "Jet Set" w/#21 Brush) to define the eyes for a "punk rock" look - gels tug less on the eyes and smudge out for a more grungy look. Apply rose salve to the lids for a "sweaty" look.
