so i am a small town barber and i know your a hairdreseer but when doing short haircuts theres a better way to hold you comb when you do scissor over comb work it would make a much more fluid movement of your comb through the hair...hold the edges ( the teeth and the bridge) with your thumb being on the bridge and your inded finger on the teeth (the rest of your finfers are holding the comb firmly)flip the comb with your thumb & index finger to make it change the direction first go down the when you get below the section you want to cut flip the comb brush up pult out snip :) if you need a video to see just let me know!!

Thanks Courtney! I know the technique your talking about. Its hard to change old habits. If you have a video you've done, you should post it. Hairstylists are always hungry for more information:)

I had my hair styled like this and am now trying to let it grow out...it is taking FOR--EVERRR! Anyway, am to the point of the top being about to my ears and I am going back in to have a long bob style trim (as long as possible, you know how that goes!) Do you have any ideas of some fun styles that I can do with this length of hair? I am one of those people who loves doing stuff with my hair and then I get tired of it and do nothing with it for a while and then I chop it all off and love it for about 6 months and then want long hair again, so I am constantly going through this (yah, glutton for punishment or something).  Thanks!

When you go in you go in for your trim tell them you only want it "Dusted." This seems to penetrate to stylists that you really only want a little off. Whenever I think about chopping off my hair, I get it colored first. Highlights or lowlights usually gives me the change I craved. Try working with braids, like a headband-braid or use some velcro rollers to give your hair a bump:)

I went in and got it trimmed today and had a great lady take care of me (I got her card and will be scheduling with her in the future!) and we talked about what I am trying to do and she took just the tiniest bit off, but now I have shape and it looks ever so much better! She also measured my daughter's hair and next month we will be going in to have her donate her hair! My daughter is 13 and has a delicate face with beautiful bone structure that is just way overwhelmed by her flat, long hair that she never wants to do anything with. So I had her watch your video about donating and she is inspired to do the same. My mom and grandmother both died from cancer, so it is something that really struck home for us both. She has 10.5 inches she can donate now, so she has enough, but she is afraid to go too short too quickly so she is going to wait until next month. I am hoping she will go for a pixie cut, I think she would look as beautiful as Emma Watson does. We will see. Love your channel and thanks for being such an inspiration!
