What are the main/basic eyeshadow brushes to create a smokey eye? And any good brands of brushes for me to get?

Eco tools has a good eyebrush set for about $8. available at Wal-Mart & probably any drugstore!

Well you should have a couple application brushes and blending brushes. One blending brush should just be for blending and then maybe a smudging/pencil brush for lower lash line.
MAC 217 and 224 are amazing blending brushes. Sigma has similar ones. I believe they are the E25 and E40.

Real techniques brushes all the way. And for a smokey eye I suggest using a shading brush, crease brush and definetly a blending brush!
