I'm 17, and because of it I can't go tanning because of it :( you have to be 18 or older. I've been thinking on spray tanning but I'm scared. any tips on what or how I should do it? I know NOTHING about tanning. what can I do so I don't end up too dark or orange? or any other suggestions?

Wow I didn't know that. I haven't tanned in a while though and I'm 20 so I guess with those 2 things combined I wouldn't know about it.

If it makes you feel better you can technically sue the state if you develop any diseases due to vitamin D deficiency ;)

But I would suggest self tanner over spray tan, even though both do work fine self tanner Is easier to control and cheaper! Try it out a few days before prom so you don't mess up on the day of and you have time to make mistakes and learn from them! Prior to self tanning, be sure to exfoliate in the shower but do not moisturize after. Places where your skin has absorbed moisturizer will not absorb the tanner as deeply, and if you don't have 100% even moisturizer application you will end up with a patchy spray tan. For prevention of the orange look go for something only 3-4 shades darker than your skin tone. A lot of the times girls don't even look orange, but they go too dark and it is a sight our brains aren't used to which we process as orange due to the stereotype!
