That may be a reason why. My hair was never dyed before so I had virgin hair which is why it came out like tht.

Any kind of dying to the hair, be it bleach or not, will damage your hair. You just can't get the same results without bleach. Just make sure to start using sulfate free shampoo/conditioners for colored hair, frequently use hair masks, and try not to put hair in tight ponytails. Good luck! I tried doing what you did and then I had to redo it with bleach and I got the results I originally wanted. My hair is definitely more dry, but it isn't awful. It would be your first time bleaching too there shouldn't be anything significant.

As for the bleach, should I just use normal bleach or is there some special hair bleach? And do I have to do it the same way with foil?

There is hair bleach do not use actual bleach!! It will damage your hair without lightening it. A lot of people prefer just bleaching the tips and then after ten minutes bleaching a bit higher and ten minutes later higher and so on and so on. Bleach brings out orange tones in hair so after you're done bleaching I would personally dye the entire bottom half of your hair (about an inch over where the bleach ends) in a light ash blonde to counteract and blend everything together.

Well it did lighten when you used the dye. Wait a week or two and dye it again with the same dye. It will keep lightening it. So just do that till you get what you want. I say 30 - 45 minutes though. Anymore could really wreck your hair.

I think that to get something done profesionally you need to go to a salon for someone to do it cause they now what to do I don't know thats what I would do and recomend doing :)!
