Well everyone reacts differently to waxing so I can't guarantee you won't react to it but I mean if your having a bad experience shaving its worth a try it is a bit painful but in my opinion gives great results :D

Pros: smoother skin
lasts for a month depending on the hair growth
Cons:painful (it depends on your pain tolerance though)
may have some redness which will last for a couple of hours
few days later you will be itching as the hair is growing back out

For me waxing is a dream!
I get everywhere waxed at my beauty college and just bought my own professional kit to keep maintenance at home, it hurts the first time but with time your skin gets tougher, I never get itchy when the hairs growing back though, you should definitely consider it :)
