I feel like there needs to be some shading under the beak to give it a little separation or maybe a brighter yellow maybe. I'm not sure it looks good though.

I see the attempt but I have to be honest had you not had the picture of daffy duck I probably would have not known what you were aiming for. When it comes to face painting you need to always add dimension or it just looks flat. However I do appreciate that your trying something new :)

*look *but Also I did shade for dimensi?n, so I guess I just don't know the right place to shade lol

Just use darks and lights to add value as you would with drawings.

I'm self taught also Jocelyn and if you have the knack with drawing you'll pretty much have the skill of making anything work, it takes time and practice and learning colors that work together its a mixer of it that works it doesn't only take one or two to intensify the look.I'm sure in time you'll get it, just keep working at it.I say this because its what I do and my experience.Keep going with it :-) here is a few pic's of my work that may give you an idea.

I'm self taught also. Here's a pic of one of mine! It honestly just takes a lot of practice and a steady hand. You're not quite there yet, but I can tell that you definetly have a lot of potential! And you have a ton of drive, which is amazing. The spider you did is sick also I really like it!

I have a few suggestions though.

1. Get some good tools and materials and really use them to your advantage. Makeup artists say everywhere that if you have average brushes, your makeup is going to be average. Good tools and good makeup is a worthwhile investment in the longrun

2. Don't be afraid to do trial and error. Really work with your materials, see what works and what doesn't.

Don't give up! You really have a lot of potential
