Have you ever hard of/ tried crushing prenatal vitamins n mixing with shampoo to thicken/ help unhealthy hair? you have to do it for about a week before you feel results I heard.

I've never tried it, but as hair growth goes in cycles I imagine this does nothing to effect it. But here are some other topics that have been posted about it that may help.

Depends what "prenatal" vitamins you get. The ones I have for pregnancy have nothing in them for hair, because your hair grows healthy during pregnancy anyway. And I doubt it would work, you're just crushingly them to put on your hair, just to wash off again?

Its not about growing- more about adding nutrients that would help with breakage n appear thicker maybe...you have to leave it for 15 minutes or so. you can feel a slight 'tingle' after about 5min. I tried it this morning.

I doubt it works, you can't do anything to change the thickness of your hair as it's determined by genetics. You can coat the hair or get more volume to appear thicker, but I don't see how it would do either of these things.
Plus, powder on your scalp will be very drying and damaging. To get unnatural color out, a trick is to use crushed up vitamins to remove color, vitamin C works best but when unavailable you can use multivitamins or anything that's a crushed up powder. It's very drying and damaging since it's basically exfoliating your hair. And that 'tingle' is usually your scalp calling for help as it's being dried out.
I can't see any reason why this would do any good to the hair. Especially since it's used to literally scrub and absorb color.

I didn't say it was about growing. I said prenatal vitamins don't have things for hair in them, you can get ones that do but there's only a small amount. I said when pregnant hair grows and is healthy. Meaning your hair doesn't need added nutrients so they don't add any. It wouldn't work any way. Vitamins are used to be inside of your system. Simply putting it on your head won't do a think. Like Alyx said, if anything the powder will just dry it out or make it feel rough.

I would imagine vitamins like that need to be absorbed through your stomach I wouldn't hav thought it would do much by putting it onto the actual hair
